  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Hello all,
I recently purchased a 2022 EX Premium Nightfall in late November of 2021. Love everything about the car except that it has a constant check engine light that KIA cant fix. Came here looking for same issue and possible solutions.

Thanks.

Did they read the code and say what it was? How many times have they attempted to fix it?

Yes, I have a code reader as well. It keeps coming up as low voltage to the O2 sensor. They have replaced the O2 sensors first time and entire engine bay wiring harness second time. First instance was at 870 miles, then 2500 miles and today it came back with check engine light for third time at 2700 miles.

Very strange. Hopefully they get it resolved. When they do post what the solution was in case anyone else runs into this issue. 🙏

Will do. As of now, I haven't found any other threads mentioning the issue. Had to open a case with KIA today to start a possible lemon law return.

Allow the dealer to try to fix it provided they are an advocate on your behalf. Once that stops, contact a Lemon Law attorney. Be aware though, once you do that, everyone goes quiet - kia customer service and the dealer but will be your ultimate fix.

Welcome aboard! And thank you for signing up. Sorry to hear about this issue. And I hope it gets rectified. For future reference, if you put the subject matter in the subject title, you'll find more people who are experiencing the same situation who will add their experiences...

I’m totally on board with allowing the dealer to give it a go. It was their recommendation to pursue the return option.

My initial guess is that there is a bad ground connection somewhere. Perhaps a loose bolt or improper mount. Have they tried reflashing your ECU/ECM? Since it is the check engine light there would be no fuse and that means it wouldn’t be the fuse box needing a better ground. If you don’t have any other electrical issues I would think before declaring a lemon they would try reflashing. Maybe the computer chip delays mean if they brick the chip then it would be faster to get a new vehicle by claiming it’s a lemon instead of waiting for a part? Seems like a big jump for a random check engine light issue with no other problems.

This is the way.

I'm not privy to all the actions taken, but the vehicle has been in the shop for a total of 16 days so far. Both times, KIA had an "Engineer" advise the dealership tech on what to do. I really don't want to go the Lemon Law route, as we love the vehicle except for this issue, but there comes a point where we need to use what we paid a premium for.
