If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... New Sorento US release

Likely won't have much of an impact on Telluride production, as the increased 100k rate for the Telluride was put into place with an eye towards production of the K5 and new Sorento.

The WP plant has an annual production capacity of around 330-340k running 3 shifts.

So, with 100k dedicated to the Telluride, figure 130 -140k for the Sorento with around 100k for the K5 (if anything, would add another 10-20k to Telluride production even if at the expense of the K5).

A refresh is no guarantee of a digital cluster (see the Stinger refresh), albeit the odds increase if the refresh includes a switch over to the N3 platform.

Also - anyone else bummed that the SXP Sorento has a digital dash and the Telluride doesn't? I bet we see that added to the Telluride next year.
No, on the contrary, I like analog, cars have already become soulless, without energy. it is cheaper and easier to plug in a tablet than to assemble a tachometer, speedometer,

I really hope the top trim will keep the bench seats with captain seats as option only on the second row, keep my fingers crossed....

According to the features and options sheet, bench seating in the second row is only for the LX and S.

I’m honestly not.
Part of that for me is likely because I’m coming from an almost entirely analog 2002 Honda, but I’ve never had any issues with the dash.
Given the issues that I’ve seen on the Telly with the glitching blind spot cameras, I’m still not entirely convinced the more tech is always better. Especially for something as essential as the dash

Kia now has the 2021 Sorento on their site. 500 pounds lighter with 281hp and 311lb-ft torque. It will definitely win a drag race with the Telluride. The new Sparkling Silver exterior and rust interior look very nice. I wonder what the difference in price will be for the top end model?

On Kia site only four color choices

The glitching blind-spot camera was an outlier. These cameras don’t have any moving parts, so they should be very reliable.

I believe the same about the cameras, I think it’s just one part of the whole which is keeping me on the ‘laggard’ side of the fence this time around.
I’m curious, are digital dashes primarily adding a ‘cool’ factor, or is there tangible benefit over analog?

When I was looking at the Ford Explorer ST thread, there was a guy whose ST wouldn’t start, and the dash remained completely black...it was a total system failure and that definitely was not cool!
But again, since a digital dash has no moving parts I would think over time they will become the standard because they will be cheaper to produce.

Agreed. I also like the fact that in the top trim they replace the funny texture on the door panel with the wood trim in front of the door handle. And that brown/copper (not sure of color name) leather and wood trim is beautiful. This is going to sell like hotcakes.

I wonder when they will start ramping up production at the West Point Georgia plant...because I could see this impacting Telluride production at Sorento launch.

Yes glad they replaced that weird texture but man those damn ac vents lol. Someone needs to be fired for that design.

Good vid from Australia

holy cow!!! This video is freaking awesome! I came across the thread think ‘meh’, then I saw this video. More impressed with the video production than the car itself, but man does it look sexy. Some of that tech isn’t even in the Telly.

Wish it was a little larger but I guess it would creep into Telluride's territory.

I guess they are segmenting the portfolio , if you need more room/ towing then you buy the Telly , really wish they offered the V6 in Canada like Australia BUT since the Telly isnt sold there I guess it makes sense ..................

Of course T is the first choice but as you know the market demand......

That parking feature is pretty cool!

It isn't much smaller, but neither is the price. Telluride SXP AWD is $48k, and the current Sorento SXP AWD is $44k. I would suspect the new one will be higher, $45-46k. We'll have to see if it out performs the Telluride 0-60 and quarter mile.

A little disappointing that there doesn't appear to be an SX version of the Hybrid - only S and EX
