• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Nightfall wheels vs SX wheels

I’m always selecting AWD in all my builds. Ex with AWD.

The nightfall wheels give me the vibe of steel rims with missing hubcaps. Don't like them.

They're also too busy and angular looking. The regular SX wheels are more streamlined and fluid looking and contrast nicely with the boxy shape of the body.

Picking up a new SXP in february. If anyone wants to trade their nightfall for sx rims, I might throw some cash in on the deal. Located in southern california

When I was going to order my Telly, I was checking all the boxes including nightfall for how it was going to be equipped. Heck, I had already did a couple of online builds of BMW X5's (I've owned many different BMW sedans and SUV's over the past 20 years) and these were easily pushing $80k, so why not? When I started the process, none of the dealers had a nightfall edition so I waited until I could see it in person. I immediately checked it out and didn't like the wheels. I think I've seen similar wheels on 80's Toyotas or something like this. There not terrible and being black, they don't really make much of an impact. They just look like they weigh 75lbs. I've always been a nonchrome guy and my latest sedans where packaged with options that removed all of it. When I did locate a preowned 20 SXP Moss Green and black interior, the minimal chrome trim and the visual presence of the grill grew on me. I could see the Nightfall in all black or maybe white for that Starwars storm trooper look. Sometimes thats why I like buying preowned, that decision has already been made.;)

I recently purchased a Nightfall edition and likely want to grab snow tires and black wheels for winter (doubt I will have a need for it this winter but have for next). So, I inquired with the dealership on the SX wheels pricing as a separate purchase, and was planning on having winter tires installed/balanced on those SX wheels. I'm okay with the combo of (a) Nightfall wheels for 3 seasons and (b) SX wheels for winter. Perhaps some would do it the other way, but I did like the Nightfall wheels in person.

My question is: are the Nightfall and SX wheels the same black colour? I have heard them both referenced in YouTube videos as Gloss Black. Can anyone confirm if there are key differences in colour or if they're practically identical? The pic posted above in this thread yields a very similar colour.

The Nightfall package is nice, but I personally do not like the Nightfall wheels compared to the black SX wheels. Has anyone purchased a Nightfall edition but had their dealer swap the wheels for the regular SX ones?
I am actually in the middle of this right now. Having them swap the wheels from my '19 to my '20 Nightfall because I hate the new ones! Then the 19 will be traded in with the brand new wheels.

Curious, did you find a wheel trade? I would think the NF rims are more valuable than standard SX rims.

I had my dealer swap my wheels out. I have a 2021 SXP NF with 2020 SXP wheels

Wow, they did that for you? I’ve been trying to find a side-by-side picture of the two wheels on an identical vehicle to compare.

no trade yet
I'm shocked you haven't find a trade yet. Guarantee plenty of folks out there with NF wishing they had SX wheels.

Maybe you should start a new thread titled - "WANTED - brand new SX Wheels swap for NF wheels"

The SX wheels are just the perfect match for the Telluride

I will get a photo of mine and post for you. I have the photo of the original from when I picked it up and I'll get one with the new/old wheels on it.

Any chance the NF wheel lighter than the SX’s, or a long shot, a little wider? I might stuck with buying a car I I want but it came with NF which I don’t care for. I trying to see if I am paying for anything else beside just the look.

What about the roof rail? Just dark color or also low profile? I am thinking the SX already come with low profile.

thx
