• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Nightfall window trim fading,2021 Telluride

I had mine replaced on my 2021 after 10,000 miles. My car was also ceramic coated. Now at 19,000 same ugly fading. I will look into wrapping the trim. No way I want my windows torn apart to just have another issue in less than a year

I thought I had read where the replacement parts were from a newer vendor using a different electroplating process, and it solved the issue?

I have the same issue on my Nightfall. All the black trim around the car is showing these discolorations.

Surely you know - that depending on your mileage - you may be covered under warranty to get all the affected trim replaced?

Yep, you will get a notice in 10 years that your awarded amount after all lawyers fees is for $.38. And this by only sending in for payments after qualifying. Been there.

2022 Nightfall with the same trim starting to turn bronze/brown. Not pleased! How long is the "paint warranty"?

We are having the exact same issue and can't get a straight answer from Kia. I am reaching out to a lawyer and trying to start a class action law suit.

Don't waste your time with the class action suit. This issue is WELL KNOWN on the '21 vehicles and has been sued to death. Corporate KIA, especially with a lawyer backing you up, should stand behind the parts replacement as they have done for most others.

“Well known” until you call customer care and they tell you they have no knowledge of this and have no reason to open a case!

“You can find anything on the internet” is what I was told. I pushed them to open a case and am sending it up the chain. Very poor customer service.

I got all my trim replaced today on my '21 telluride. Does anyone know if the new trim will also fade or is it better quality?

This is the problem I have with KIA, accountability. It would be refreshing to hear them tell you "Mr Smith we are sorry you window trim faded under warranty. Let us replace this with new item from a different vendor that has been tested and will not have the same issues as the original" Exact same thing could be stated for the windshield, or the 4wd coupler I just had replaced. But no, your left wondering "Did I just get a inferior part with the same issues"? It just hasn't started to fail...yet. Terrible.

I’d like to start getting a list of people and file a class action on this against Kia. Who here is having problems, please reply. Thanks
Hey Dave, I have a 2021 SX with the same problem. Spoke to dealership who originally stated trim was covered but reneged after vehicle dropped off for 2 days. Kia definitely knows it's a problem. I'm in if you want to pursue legal action. You can reach out to me for any additional information. Thanks

I have a 2021 Telluride nightfall SX. I am having the problem with the trim fading terribly.
Took it to the dealer here in Lancaster Ohio and was told every piece of window trim needed to be replaced and it would be covered under warranty. The parts were ordered over 4 months ago and there is still no eta.
The service manager said he hadn't seen this problem on a Telluride but he had seen it on a stinger. He further stated that the 2022 Telluride no longer used the same nightfall trim which leads me to believe they know its a problem.
The service manager at Coughlin Kia Lancaster Ohio told me Kia doesn't care about your service once they (KIA) get your money so there is no hurry to help.
I have spoken with the dealership to no avail a couple times and now have a case number through Kia customer care which was just escalated to the next level.
Very disappointed with Kia so far, will see if they rectify that.
These parts are small enough they could just mail them so there is no excuse for taking this long.NO EXCUSE!!
I am currently trying to sell a 2021 Telluride Nightfall, but with 90% of the window moldings looking like someone tried stripping the paint off, it looks like hell and is making it near impossible .
Took it to the area Kia Dealer and could only get "Those are on back order and we have no eta when they might start shipping them. If you want to leave your name and email we can send you a message when they have that figured out"
Now, mind you, I went in and spent no more than a minute or two telling the service advisor what was up, then without looking anything up or examining my Telluride; he had that reply right at the tip of his tongue. As if he was used to saying it multiple times a day. I don't know about you but that was everything I needed to confirm it was a well known issue and should be quickly addressed. I just doubt Kia will

I have a 2021 SX with the same trim problem . The car has 11,000 miles. I took it to Kia and although they took pictures, they told me trim was only covered for 12 months. After paying $64,000 out the door, I explained that is unacceptable. My car looks terrible. I am going to take the dealership to small claims court if they don’t fix the problem. I live in New York and I’m hoping this is something I can pursue.
Any resolution to this. My wife loves the nightfall trim package but it just sounds like a horror story trying to deal with it. The dealer I use in Southern New York said it's not covered under warranty.

As I indicated in a previous post, my dealer replaced the trim on my 2022 under warranty. Said it was covered for two years. I was at about 15 months. Sorry they are not handling it for you. Maybe contact Kia Customer Care and make a claim.

I am going to just wrap mine. I understand they have to take the rear quarter windows out and I don't want them messing with that. Other than this cosmetic issue my 22 is great!

I know I am in a Telluride forum. But the 21 Sorento's are having the same problems. Mine looks horrible at only 16k miles. So far the KIA dealership is avoiding me and won't return my calls and I have been nice about it. That is about to change.
