Nightfall window trim fading,2021 Telluride

I would just find someone local who can do a chrome delete (vinyl warp) in black! You will be much happier with the look!

I have a Nightfall edition and I had the trim wrapped in black and taillights blacked out. Love it. I'll send pictures once I get it cleaned up!

Can you send pic to me too? Did you remove the trim? I have been told be dealer that the rear side windows require glass shop to do.

I feel your frustration! I have a 2021 SX Prestige - Nightfall Edition and have the same issue. My local dealership in Sunrise, Florida (Rick Case KIA) told me to buy a product called “Chemical Guys Chrome Polish” take a picture with me holding it in front of my vehicle and they will replace the window trim (nightfall) but it’s a 1 time fix & I would have to use this every time before washing/detailing my vehicle!!! I filed a claim with KIA Corporation and through many conversations with associates & supervisors they seemed shocked that the dealership would tell me such a thing. 1 Supervisor told me it’s covered under my paint warranty so he escalated my claim because 5 weeks in and no response from the dealership. Today 9/16/22 I received a call from a KIA Corp. supervisor “Heather” who told me an area supervisor for South Florida spoke to the service manager at Rick Case KIA and the decision was made and explained to me prior… The Results: This Nightfall peeling issue is ‘NOT’ covered under warranty (Like 1 supervisor from corporate said) and it’s cause by, “OUTSIDE INFLUENCES” (hahahaha BS. Now you can’t even hand wash your car without paint coming off) It seems to be a different call per state & dealership as to fixing this issue but this is clearly a manufacturing plant issue and terrible or lack of QC on this vehicle. This Nightfall package is discontinued for a reason and KIA knows it but won’t honor the problem so I’m done playing games and contacted an Attorney!!!!!! Good-luck to every Telluride Nightfall Edition owner who’s having this problem.

Hi there, I went to the same dealership and had the exact same experience as you. I ended up wrapping it in vinyl for $400, and it’s been that way for a year now. After multiple conversations, Kia Customer Support gave me the same generic response.

I’d love to know more about how a lawyer could help in this situation.

I'm having the same problem on my 2021 Nightfall Kia Telluride. Looks like crap. I emailed the Kia company and someone called me two days later. They said I was not covered under warranty and to take it to the local dealership so they can photograph it. I forwarded them this thread as proof that many of us are experiencing the same problem with the window trim. It's obviously a manufacturer's defect.... I am very upset that I paid extra for "The Nightfall Package" and it looks like absolute crap. They better be in works to do a recall.....

The trim on my 2024 is already fading. One piece has been replaced and you can see the difference. My 4 Runner can’t get here quick enough

I blacked out my KIA logos (hood and deck) myself using our Cricut and standard glossy black vinyl and was going to wrap the trim if the dealer can't help. The logo vinyl has held up much better than the window trim after 3 years (and frequent car washes). Good luck to everyone fighting the good fight!

I had my trim replaced on my 21 NF by the dealer in 2023. The new trim is the same faded already. So its a defect in the trim. I'm just gonna hyper dip my trim eventually.

I always handwash, 2 bucket method etc etc. Its the trim quality which is why they changed it on new models. The trim paint/coating just fades.

I've had my Telly for about 4 1/2 years now. It has never been through a commercial car wash, always hand-washed by me. Aside from the normal wear, my trim is in relatively good shape. There is one blemish on the trim that was caused by a piece of tape when I had my flag decal put on. That did worry me at the time, because I read about the problems with the trim from other owners. So, count me lucky.

Anyone having issues with the black trim coming off? Im assuming the glue is just letting go. I have a 22 SX.
