Noises

Where exactly did you press to get that snap? The rattle comes from the center dome for me.
The actual headliner itself. Just press up in the area you hear the rattle. First tap on the headliner and see general area where the noise is coming from and once you find the area just press that area to help the clips engage assuming that it is not being fully engaged is the reason for the rattle.

just an update/fyi on my particular 2nd row/Captain's rattles fix in case it helps someone else.
appeared silent en route home from dealer so, fingers crossed. mine visibly wobbled side to side & below is the wording on my Service receipt after 2nd attempt & leaving him there for most of a day:
'After pulling passenger second row seat apart checking various plastic to plastic contact points found a section of leather that was rubbing against a metal bar applied felt tape around the 4 bars on both seats and test drove to confirm noise no longer present'

Others are having this problem and so am I. This is no "normal" squeak and it's really annoying. Will be taking it back for the 3rd time this week. Mine started after owning it 2 days. Had the second row light fixture rattle too but they fixed that. Dealer said they'd replace the offending 2nd row captain's chair, if necessary. Good luck...
Hello folks I had the same captain chairs squeak typically you don’t hear it when radio is on but when it is off I could hear it and it drove me nuts. I finally figured out the issue it is the car seat hooks that is causing the noise. It is rubbing against the leather. If you recline the seat a bit then it does not touch the hook and no noise give it a try and let me know

How was the dome light rattling fixed? I’d prefer to do it myself …
They said it was loose insulation that they clipped back in place. The rattle returned after 5 weeks. Need to take it back yet again.

The passenger side seat has a rattle when I drive and it drives me nuts lol. I tried to check other seats and fixed it for the captain chairs.. but I think like other people it seems to be a case of loose insulation. I can recreate it if I thump the seat and seems like a spring or something keeps vibrating after.

I also see these bands they have used to hold certain parts together, shows bad craftsmanship on Kia's part.
these rubber bands are not sound mount. from the factory, a polythene bag is put on this part (I do not know what it is called in English). the polythene bag is covered with an elastic band. your dealer has removed the bag and forgot to remove the rubber band.

Between the top backrest and bottom seat. This is the car seat hook. Just do a slight recline on the back and see if it helps. When reclining the seat the hooks do not rub on the leather and this helps with the noise on the captains chair

Would you mind sharing a pic what to look at ? Sorry I can't picture it lol

The LATCH anchors or “seat hooks” are not visible when looking at the seat. You will only see the little plastic button position indicators where they are located. One on the left and right sides of the seat. You would clip the car seat mounts to that location, or can also reach in there with your finger between the cushions to feel the location of the anchors.

I have not had any issues with my SXP making noise from these LATCH anchors on my captain chairs. The different leather materials on the lower trims may behave differently?

Mine is sxp so I would think they would behave like all the nappa leather seats..

I tried pushing the leather down around these latches which temporarily fixed the rattling but as soon as it hits the potholes or a bump they rattle again. Seems like in general these captain chairs are loosely attached. I will need to put a tape on those anchors and check...still taking it to a dealership tomorrow sometime.

Maybe your seat wasn’t installed securely at the manufacture. Perhaps there is a bolt they can tighten to eliminate the rattling? My seats don’t rattle at all.

Also, a common rattle source is the headliner near the dome light at the 2nd row. Other users have reported that pushing in the loose clips under the headliner resolved their rattling noises. The noise could be coming from above instead of below?

Yeah I checked for the headliner and its secure. I have validated the sound from captain chairs with multiple people now. I agree with you I think they haven't been installed securely enough because slapping them makes them shake and I can hear the rattle pretty easily then too.

In addition I owned a 2020 telluride sx too and never heard any kind of rattle in it at all.

Hi there - I have the same issue. Were you able to fix it? If you did, would you mind sharing how you fixed it? We have a brand new Telluride with this issue and it is extremely annoying :-(

I have the same issue likely from a seat and taken it to the dealership a few times now. No resolution so far. Very annoying to say the least.
Helping fellow Telluride owners captain chair noises are created from the leather squeaking against the child seat hook. Just recline it a bit where the seat is not rubbing against it and that addresses the noise.

Have you tried pushing up directly on the dome light to secure the clips if they are loose? Or the headliner area where the rattle is coming from?

I took it to dealership and they replaced the whole dome light as they found it was installed improperly , the plastic clips were rubbing against the metal bracket in addition to the fact that the headliner was sagging around that area. That said, the rattle has come back after 5 days of getting my telly back.
