• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... We waited 9 1/2 months to receive our 2022 Moss Green/Dune Brown SX, and we love it. Unfortunately, on Day 29 (before the paper dealer plate expired), some moron in a Silverado, drifted from the left lane into the center lane of I-65 and drove into the driver’s rear corner of the Telluride. This wasn’t a blind spot issue, as most of the Telluride would have been in front of him… He was probably looking at his phone. Anyway, It destroyed the bumper cover and a couple of trim pieces and will require some repair work on the door… about $5K in damage. This is bad enough, but now the body shop tells us that the wait for the required parts is 3-6 MONTHS. For any of you unfortunate enough to have experienced a collision, does this lead time for body parts sound right?

Yes, I just waited ~3 months for a car to be fixed at collision shop. Not a Telluride, but if they have to order parts you will wait since supply chain has been interrupted
Did you get a rental through Insurance?

Mine was rear ended at a stop sign.
Bumper and some sensors busted.
Was told could take 3 months to repair.

Thanks to Governor of California Gavin Newsom and the rest of the wise guys in CA legislature. About half the national shipments come from LA area ports. Couple of months ago our masters in CA Gov enacted a law that prohibits any truck built prior to 2011 (only 10 years old) from driving in the entire state. Truck owners don't throw out their truck after 11 years, do they?

We could probably lean on the insurance company to get a rental until the parts are in, but it would be some crappy econobox that we wouldn’t want to drive. The Telluride is completely drivable (after the body shop secured the broken bumper cover), so we’ll just keep driving our wrecked, new vehicle until the parts arrive.

This statement is at best misleading.
