Order to delivery time

That is the date the VIN was created according to the spreadsheet. From what I can gather, the VIN isn't created until the vehicle is manufactured.

It will be interesting to follow the progress of your vehicle to see how long it takes from vin created to delivery.

We just placed an order today 9/24/19 for an EX FWD Moss/Gray with Kia of Muncie. We got our Costco pricing and am planning for the 3 month wait. But, hoping for less. We live in Florida and were tired of the Florida Dealership price augmentation down here. We will take a $100 or less flight to save $4k-$10k. We wouldn't have really thought about it until we found this forum. Thank you for the recommendations.

Some dealers are shady. We test drove two different sx’s from Thomas Kia and South Lake Kia. Both are in North West Indiana. Both sales men let us drive them but said we couldn’t buy them as they were sold already, but they said we can order one for you. Didn’t order from them because of that and we didn’t want to pay 2k over msrp plus dealer add-ons. This was back in beginning of September. Hope this helps you and others. Happy New Year.

In an earlier post, you said you ordered on 4/13 an SWP SX Prestige with Dune. Did you cancel that order? Or did that not work out? Or did you order a second one?

July orders should be filled by now if your dealer actually placed an order and the dealer is not in trouble. Please state your dealer name, and we can check the production spreadsheet on forum. Ask your dealer for the order ID which should have the date embedded in it. By now, they should at least have a delivery date in Jan or Feb.

We had another case of a July order - turns out the dealership wasn't receiving Prestige for some reason - and the dealership had ordered incorrectly. So, that person would have never gotten their order fulfilled - he ended up having to fine another one manually by calling dealers with the production spreadsheet.

Only $5k over? They could have done better than that. I hope they gave you quite a bit! The manufacturer incentives in place in August were much better than today. Now, there is only $1000 for finance with KMF and another $400 for Military. Anyway, hopefully they are compensating you significantly.

At that time (and still), Kia was requiring that vehicles be delivered to person on the sold order (sample letters were posted on forum) and when dealers didn't do that, they could be punished with fewer allocations - esp Prestige. Hopefully that's not the case here. I do see Tempe has been allocated three Prestige in the last two months. In any case, looks like you'll just have to continue to wait. I'd keep asking the dealer for updates, but there's nothing matching a SWP with Dune in the incoming list. There is a Dark Moss produced on 12-18.

Maybe it will show up in the next month or so. Here's the sheet... you can search Tempe Kia and filter by your options. I think your original order had a production date of 7-31 on the sheet, yes?

When you see a VIN matching your vehicle and dealer, I'd call the dealer immediately to verify if it's yours.

Hi! I just saw this post and I too placed an order for a snow white/black nappa SX Prestige on July 27th from Grand Kia Thornton, CO. I have no VIn yet or delivery date. My order # is CO007190727J002. Am I missing something? Do you think my dealer didn't actally place the order? Should I be going about this another way? I have been so patiently wiating, but now I'm concerned I may have been too patient?? Amy help is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

I will look more in detail tomorrow, but I don't see a major problem with Grand Kia. They are a smaller dealer - I believe only 55 Telluride's allocated through 12/20 VINs. In December they had 7 allocated, 3 of which were Prestige. Given their slow rate of allocations, you could ask where you are in the queue. Watch that production spreadsheet I referenced - hopefully it will be allocated in January. If there are 20+ orders in front of you... well that could be another 3 months. They didn't re-open SX-P orders until late July, so I would guess that your order is very close to being fulfilled. Ask dealer for more info - has it been assigned an internal request ID? Your sales guy may blow you off, but the fleet manager would have access to all the pertinent info on your order.

For those that have ordered from Kia of Muncie what did you see between order date and when you picked it up

Ordered beginning of August and just got delivery date of end of February. I ended up finding my exact order elsewhere this past weekend. Lucas was very understanding. Good luck everyone - totally worth the wait!!!
