  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
    If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. Order to delivery time

Dealer is saying that my SX-P is in Kdealer...but not KFOS...starting to really have my doubts with him...

I asked if I can add accessories and other stuff - he's like hold up, not positive, just text them to me...Hello - if it isn't in KFOS of course I can ask for changes...this is crazy...

Yeah - this sounds like it is in line like everyone else. And yeah - if it isn't in KFOS - they can make changes.

Lots of people on here waiting a lot longer than I have...I still think one of the best ways to get your Telly is to pick one off that's on Failcat...did that and lost to the owner but I'll keep trying.

He still said late Sept/Early October ETA...I'm #4 of their SX Trim list and come on...if they get 1 a month then yeah Oct/Nov is reasonable. They did get one SX-P on 7/1, none the rest of the month.

Let's see...nothing happening until it goes in the system...

You're trying to chase unsold inventory. It's very difficult, and even with Failcat most are already pre-sold. At this point with Nightfall announcements, those are likely pre-selling also. Finally, many dealerships will offer unsold allocations (or people who back out of sold orders) to their internal waiting customers first. Could have happened with your request - I had it happen a couple of times last year before Failcat. Salesperson says that it's available, but come to find out later it isn't. I learned quickly that trying to find an unsold allocation is lots of work. Now, with markups prevalent, any unsold allocation will command a premium at many dealerships. They probably offered the Nightfall to a waiting customer as an option and they took it... or auctioned it off. Or, the owner's son wanted one. Who knows. Ha.

When you say "call"... are you just calling the main line and talking to whomever picks up? I always feel like that person is not going to be the one who has any authority; but do you think talking to a person on the phone is more effective than emailing?

Ask for New Sales Director,
Sales Manager, or
General Manager

yeah, right there with you bud. Sept/Oct is being WAY TOO eager on the salespersons part...

If the get 1 a month...I'm at Nov/Dec.

Correct, I was reading a few pages back where you all said you saw VINs and called dealerships. I personally hate talking on the phone so I was curious what that process looked like for you.

Some people on here just email the dealer. Or go to the website and send a question via chat. Then you will get a call back.

Yeah I actually prefer doing a quick phone call and getting an answer instead of emailing and waiting. I usually call ask for sales then check with them. Most of the time they wont know about the car coming so I make sure to ask them to check with their manager and i’ll provide the vin number and tell them i can see the window sticker with your name on it. Never had a problem although i heard some people did have some problems. Not all dealers like that.
 
I wish I could just forget that I ordered and months will just fly by. Instead im like a crack addict needing my fix of telly news, updates, rereading old forum posts..

Like many of us, I’ve never waited for a car this long and have now gotten sucked in to constantly looking for updates. But from the overwhelming majority of owners it sounds like it’s worth the wait, or so I keep telling myself!

I waited 6 months to receive mine, and have owned it for 8 months now. Still feels like a new awesome car every time I get into it.
 
Looks like there is always good news out there. Whoever doesn’t know my story with the first dealer I was working with, here is a summary. Placed and order Dec 2019 and kept getting false eta until July 2020 they tried to give me a ghost car, white sx non prestige no towing. Then figured out they forgot to place my order. I fought with them, got my deposit back, and left. They said they’ll put me 1st in line for 2021 when orders open.
This morning I called them to see if they’re getting any allocated nightfall. The sales put me on hold for some long time and came back to me saying “I spoke to sales manager and I see you already have an order with us, so are you trying to change your order to nightfall, you don’t want this car anymore?” I asked her to send me the info of that car she’s talking about. She sent me an email and yup thats my original order white sxpt with dune brown interior and all the add ups(illuminated plates, interior light, wheel locks). Eta Sept. 9! Spoke to @StephenCantrelle and sent him a snapshot of the order. He confirmed it looks legit. Looks like my order was switched to 2021 and don’t ask me what’s going with the dealer, why they didn’t know about it or what happened. I have no clue! Just happy again that I’m getting my car. Fingers crossed. And thank to Stephen again.
 
Jadyas, they refunded your deposit on a car that was already on order then asked you if you still wanted it after you gave them another shot, and didn't even realize it?! Wth! Lol
