Order to delivery time

Ordered black on black or copper (first available) SXP 4/17 and absolutely no word on any status up to this week. I called the dealer on Wednesday to say I was done waiting and was ready to move on to the Palisade, which is readily available now. Magically, I was informed Thursday morning that my build was accepted, but with an ETA of 60 days ... from next week ... which doesn't make any sense. I asked to see the letter and they said no. They also don't know which color was accepted.

Seems I'm being led on just to stay, right? Is there any way to verify they're not pulling my chain?

They need to be able to produce paperwork for you. If they can't then they're flat out being just dishonest. I had one dealer who did the exact same thing to me and told me it was ordered. Took my $500 deposit.Then gave me some bullshit about a mid-june delivery. The next day I went to my local dealer and put in a $500 deposit as well. and I'd only ordered the car in front of me but they gave me a letter of acceptance within an hour. They communicated the VIN number and the ETA, which is due to arrive in 2 weeks. They even sent screenshots of the ETA in their computer system..... Is tied to the VIN number they supplied me. Every dealership should be able to do that. Anyone who will not is a shady asshole who deserves no business. if they actually have an accepted order they should be able to provide this paperwork to you within minutes. once I got my ETA I called the shady dealer and told them to give me my money back. I also sent the general manager an email dealer detailing how a real dealership treats its customers. I reminded him that one of my best friends is a head football coach of a very large high School in his immediate area......and his word carries alot of weight in the community. I explained how their disingenuous practices would be shared. Some of these dealerships are just too stupid to realize that word-of-mouth is the biggest marketing tool they have.

Maybe it was on the truck and they chose to sell it to someone with a better offer? Wouldn't be the first time. Perhaps a visit to your dealer is warranted? Just sayin.

I am a bit concerned with that. My accepted and signed deal is $1,000 below MSRP before incentives. Likely less profit than current deals.

Also, they're telling me the $1k conquest incentive is still valid for July although I don't see that on Kia.com. Is this another trick or is that incentive still actually valid?

You are right it is just a car, but you are a consumer and should be treated with respect and honesty

Agree. They told you it was there and for you to pick it up. You have every right to make a visit to find out more details.

I'm pretty sure your dealer is going to have to send you the sticker. I don't think you can do anything with the VIN number alone. You can go to the UVO app and put in your VIN.....but you won't be able to activate it

I had the dealer email me the updated order form with the allocation number and filled date (7/11/19). The form, strangely, contains a 10-digit numeric "VIN." Is there a way to plug that into the URL referenced in this thread to pull up the window sticker? I have tried several 17 digit combinations but none have worked for me.

Well my order number looked nothing like a VIN. Perhaps you have an order number and not a VIN. And no there is no way to look up the vehicle status with the order number.

Wondering if people can start posting when they ordered and when they received their Kia (or at least the vin).

I ordered an sx prestige with tow on March 13. Nothing yet.

Many of the threads here have gotten hare to follow woth with the side conversations, it would be helpful to just keep this to dates for people’s reference.

I ordered an EX awd in moss with tow on June 6
Was told on June 26 it will be sept 15. ( I told them I was supposed to do a road trip in aug, he assured my it wouldn’t take that long. )

I managed to get customer service at Kia to open a case on it and I expect to have update on that soon. Edit: Naturally, I'll share the result on this board.

I am officially going in circles: Kia consumer affairs tells me that they cannot track anything nor provide any updates without a VIN, which the dealer cannot provide, claiming they do not have one yet... They further suggested I wait a bit longer, and they will periodically follow up with the dealer to try to get more information. Is this some sort of scam that Kia is in on with the dealership? I don't know what to think anymore.

I am in the same boat. Still no update, but apparently it was the options I ordered with, skid plate.

At this point you can.

1.) Give up and go get another vehicle from another dealer.
2.) You can wait it out and see what happens.

I am going to kick back and see what happens. Nothing I can really do but kick back and see what happens.

How far after acceptance was build? Is that when you get the VIN or sometime inbetween then?
