  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Order to delivery time

We ordered an SX-P w/towing Gravity Gray/Black int. on May 4 and it came in to the dealership today. Based on all the negative info on problems on here, we are going to cancel the order! Still looking for a new vehicle!!

Anyone know if SX trim level with Dune Brown interior are being built? All I see are SX with black or grey, but I can't seem to find any in inventories with dune brown. I hope that's just because they are purchased as fast as they are made and therefore not in any inventory listings.

It is strange, but butterscotch and dune brown are listed as "BLACK" interiors - so searching online will be impossible. You will have to look at individual window stickers.

But, to your other point, no, there is very little unsold inventory out there - and if it's not sold then there are massive markups. I use this link:

https://www.kia.com/us/en/data/dealerinventory/windowsticker/<VIN>

And replace <VIN> with the actual vin copied from those searches. Look on the right column under options, and you will see where it says Butterscotch or Dune Brown leather. Have fun...

What problems?

Troll. Don’t bite.
I joined this forum the week we ordered our Kia!! Been monitoring post daily since then. Not trolling anyone, no need to!! Anyone that has been on here for more than a short time knows there are issues.
I just don't want to deal with them right now. First year is always tough. I've been around here for a long time now and not posted anything negative, not the definition of a troll!!! I will continue to hang out and monitor, but moving on with car buying. I hope the issues are resolved in short order, I just don't want to deal with them. Joined this forum on May 13!!!

What are you going to move on to? Seriously. If you did not know this was a first model release, I would say that most of the problems are well below industry average.

But to say that you are canceling your order because there is too many problems, is literally saying either you just don't want to own any car or you are trying to drive up the drama quota.

I will say any car you buy on the market right now will have more problems this the telluride. So which is it? You not going to buy a car or you driving up drama?

Ordered my SX prestige Moss Green with dune brown on 4/25 and received on 8/7!

Thanks for the feedback, especially regarding not being able to see it as anything other than black when i search inventories.

I just wanted to know what you classify as issues that would stop you from picking up the car. Minor issues with cars never go away. Just look at the Atlas, Ascent forums. Even in their second and third years problems happen.

What you'll see in forums like these are people who post to get answers to the problems/issues they have. You know what they always say ...people with issues will post to get help or rant. People without issues continue to live and will never be heard from. Some people will take a car in to the dealership if there is a screw missing. Some like me don't have the time to sit there and wait to get it fixed.

And I understand your concern about getting a first year production vehicle. It is scary. I also think most of the issues haven't been that major, mostly quality control.

No worries though, I'm sure your dealership will have no problem selling the car.

Good answer. I would also add that Kia has sold approximately 28000 Tellurides to date and we've seen only a few people with issues on this forum - maybe 40-60? Some minor, some major. I should to a count... there are always going to be challenges with any vehicle.

You never called out any specific issue that you are worried about that would prevent you from wanting the vehicle. What are they?
I would say that 99% of the reviews I have seen have been overwhelmingly positive. The things I see complained about on this forum are about the ordering and availability of the Tellurides right now, not anything wrong with the vehicle when you get it.
Anyways, good luck on your search.

On this forum? There's a separate thread for vibration issues that need to be diagnosed, one person reported a faulty (bent) a/c line, a few people had trouble with the rear A/C not blowing strong so they needed a replacement coil, one person reported a leaking 2nd sunroof, a few people are reporting faulty transmissions, EX model owners had issues with their infotainment screens before an update, quite a few had issues with their SX-P seats falling apart due to improper construction, some had leather discoloration... the list goes on. Some are minor issues (like the seats and infotainment) and others major (like the transmissions, sunroof leak, etc). But many are getting resolved, and given that 32,000 vehicles have been produced, we don't know the incidence rate of problems based on the small sample on this forum. I do agree, however, that most people appear to be overwhelmingly satisfied. That's no consolation to those who are having issues though.

Even established vehicles and assembly lines have them on all makes and models... if you dig into all of them, you will never own another vehicle.
