Order to delivery time

Thanks - at least I know that for sure now.

Also just told me only 5 people ahead of me - so I might be in a good spot on their orders.

Yes, they are a very low volume dealer (42 is VERY low) but they aren't the lowest. Plus, they are getting Prestige - which is good. Hang in there.

Ya, I'm in no rush and my dealership seems to get decent reviews so I'm not afraid of them "screwing me". I just had a bad experience for my last lease so I've just be weary of everything.

Currently still in a lease anyway, so I have time. Just one of the most impatient people in the world haha

That is great news.. with that information I would stick with them

That's awesome. Should hopefully not be too horrible of a wait.

Some of you will find out you never had orders placed. I wish I had a dollar for every email I received regarding this. Going to get worse before it gets better. And just to be very fair to all dealers.... Do Not hound these guys a month 2 months or few weeks into process when they tell you 4-6 months. Unless the Telluride Fairy comes with pixie dust and sprinkles it on our ordering system... No news to report! We just all need to be patient. All we can do.
So, if I see the Telluride fairy packing pixie dust and sprinkles while I'm hanging out in the parking lot at the KIA plant waiting to see mine built, I'll send her straight up to Indiana to share her magic...I wouldn't want your job my friend :)

Yes, this is frustrating. There are 84 dealers / 781 listed that have had 0 or 1 SX Prestige vehicles delivered. If Stephen doesn't see it- it is unlikely to arrive before March. Many are smaller dealerships. If they haven't cashed the check - you can always stop payment on the check and then tell them you want to cancel. But, before you go that route, I would try to find your desired vehicle from another dealership (or place an order from a higher volume dealership who can get it faster). You'll have to work the phone - and it will be frustrating - but not impossible. The inventory spreadsheet we have on the forum will help you narrow down allocations of your desired trim.

Sorry for frustration... if I can help by searching through the spreadsheet for you, I will.

So I had a chance to stop by today. It seems that the saleslady and manager were both fired (Not quit); I have no idea if that has to do with what you suspect with the false orders, but I am sure it hasn't helped with my order either. The new salesguy, and new manager, were very nice, so I am trying to give them the benefit of the doubt....but I am pretty sure I am about to cancel my order and start over. They gave the printout from "Dealer KFOS" (Picture attached), so it seems like the order was placed, but I am very concerned about a few things....could you make sure I am not missing something here before I cancel?
  1. The order number is "MS015-1911J42820001". Looking at Stephen's post a few pages back...it seems like I am missing a number (19 is year, 11 month?, but no date).
  2. If 11 is the month, then the order was placed 3 months after I put my deposit down
  3. It appears they ordered the wrong model; the J4282 is not the prestige package.
  4. The "KFOS month" is 201912, and the VIN/ID# is populated....they told me this means the VIN has been assigned and the order will be here in 12/2019 (KFOS month). This does not seem to be true as that is not an actual VIN number and, even if it is incomplete, doesn't match up to anything in the google sheet.

Luckily, they are incompetent enough that they can't find the "buyer package" or my deposit, so even if I cancel I won't have to worry about it. If there is something obvious I am missing above, and my SX-P might show up by the end of December, let me know....but I am about to email them and move of from this entire mess.

How do I provide feedback to Kia corporate about how horrible the experience at this dealer as been??

Wow. They probably wanted a inbound unit to fill your request. Looks like a Nov order. Very sorry about the experience you had.

Yeah, that MSRP is too low for a white SXP. That looks like an AWD SX MSRP. I'd just get my deposit back and go find another dealer. That order number doesn't make sense either.

To answer your question you are right.

Few things.. it does have an internal number that is the 0007523495... the internal number replaces the Request ID. It means that the particular one is assigned to the dealer. It doesn’t have a Vin yet because it hasn’t been produced at the factory.

This is not a SXP. So who knows if they are giving you the correct internal number for your order. Only way to tell is for them to click the internal number and it should show your name attached to the car if they ordered properly.

J4282 is SX FWD

So frustrating to see dealers just not know what they are doing.

If they go to unfilled orders in Kdealer(Kia internal system) they can see your name next to your request.

If that order has your name attached the original people ordered you the wrong Telluride.

Sorry for the bs you and many others are having to deal with.

🤦🏻‍♂️

If they are new to the process and need help to confirm I don’t mind them calling me so I can walk them through the steps to confirm it’s your order..

looking back at the picture it doesn’t state your name in the customer name box. I don’t think that is your ordered Telluride

I got my wife a Hyundai Kona last week. Now she won't keep grilling me as to why I ordered a car that could take months to arrive. I'll be 3 months in on the Telly next week. Hopefully, I'm past the halfway point!

This particular dealer didn't have many Palisade allocated it seems. The salesman said there was a lot of interest but they rarely can keep them in stock.

I got a text today from the sales guy at Moritz Kia (Alliance) telling me that Kia has my order and is prepping to begin building. Does that mean that I'm 45-ish days away from delivery? If I'm not that close to delivery, that's cool. But what info should I ask for to confirm that the order is actually accepted and allocated to the dealer and in process of being built?

Moritz is a good dealership. They aren't lying. When the car is produced, it will get a VIN and a window sticker. Ask them to send you the VIN when they have it. As far as time... it depends on what they mean by "prepping to begin building". Once there is a VIN, maybe 2-3 weeks for final inspection and transport / delivery.

Thanks so much to you and JW!

I suspect they messed up my order and/or placed it in November, or gave me whatever white SX order they had placed...either way, not someone I want to buy from. Luckily, they haven’t cashed my deposit (and apparently can’t find the check) so I’ll go cancel that tomorrow and be done with them.

As jw suggested, I filtered the google sheet by AL, MS, and LA, and looked for the dealerships that received the most prestige models, which seems to be Wilson Kia in Flowood.

Coincidentally, they had a vin assigned to them on 12/15 that is almost exactly what I want. I called them today to see if it was already spoken for, but the person I talked to couldn’t pull info on it....this forum has helped me be more knowledgeable than half the sales reps out there!

Anyway, I plan to make the 1.5 hour drive tomorrow to sit down with the rep and his manager, discuss my experience at Dean McCrary, and see what is the best way to move forward (get the vin that was recently assigned to them if it’s available, or place another order for the specific one I thought I placed in August, or get on a list for the next SX-P and take what I get).

Thanks again for the help...if I hadn’t come here I’d likely be strung along for who knows how long and never received my ride!

Lol. Turn the flip phone off and place in round file.

Good luck, glad we could help. BTW, I wouldn't be too picky with options on an SX-P. In my opinion, the only major decision is the tow package, because that includes different shocks, a new bumper cover and a hitch - so installed at the factory is worth it.

Everything else can be installed after delivery with OEM parts or an aftermarket solution. For example, I just ordered with carpeted mats and tow package. Even the wheel locks are overpriced. I've added cargo net and cargo mat once I decided what I wanted and ordered OEM from a Kia dealer at a substantial discount to sticker price.

Lighted door sills are cool - but just that - and even those can be ordered and installed later. If you wanted interior footwells lighting, the Kia interior light kit is way overpriced - you can order it and have it installed, or just find a better aftermarket solution from a shop.

In time I think I will add some additional lighting from a third party shop - I can live without the lighted door sills because SX-P already comes with nice metal door sills.

Mud flaps etc can also be installed by dealer. Just my two cents. Certain options can really delay delivery.
