Order to delivery time

I ordered an SX-P in early November and haven't received a notice yet.

"I put down a deposit today to hold an SX-P that is scheduled for delivery on 2/25! However, the dealer says it does not yet have a VIN assigned. Based on all the comments in this thread, this sounds too good to be true. Is the delivery date legitimate or should I expect it to get pushed out? "

The ETA is a good measure to go off of.. sometimes it moves a week forward or backwards but for the most part it is accurate

I'm Moss with Dune. The one I test drove had the Dune and I fell in love as well. Never in my life did I think I would be doing a non-black interior until I saw it in person.

Same combo here.. didn’t think I would ever do anything other than black/dark grey interior!
Truth is I have not seen that combo in person, a friend of mind did and was very impressed!! Are you waiting for ur car or did yuh already get it?

Depends really on location to dealer.. I see vin pop up two weeks-three weeks before delivery.. I’m in Dallas so when it goes into In Transit status I usually get the car in 48 hours..

TN status(transit tender) is after Telluride gets built has a vin and is waiting for transport.. (they do final inspection at this point as well) that usually takes a week or so.

So yes this is normal to not have a Vin a month out.

They told me I should have an update today but I haven’t heard anything. Does this mean the car hasn’t even been put into production yet? Also, I have a VIN on the purchase agreement. Look for the VIN you have on this website: Telluride Lookup My understanding is that the VIN shows up after build.

7/26/19. That should have been delivered by now... you better get with your dealer and demand to find out what's going on.

I'm seeing some discrepancies with the data listed on the Production Stats google sheet and what the window sticker shows. I'm looking at an SXP listed on a local dealer's website (Cape & Islands KIA, South Yarmouth, MA) and the window sticker has it as a Snow White w/ black interior. But the google sheet has the same VIN listed with Dune Brown interior. Has anyone else run into something similar, and which one is correct? VIN # 5XYP5DHC1LG066481. Thanks

KIA'S window stickers have been like this for years. It's frustrating because when I was looking for a particular interior color for a Sorento, more than half the time websites listed it wrong for the reasons stated previously: Most of them don't pull the interior from the options list.

The one site that seems to do it right is Edmunds. And now it looks like Autotrader may be getting it right more than half the time.

NEVER TRUST A DEALER'S WEB SITE. They can wrongly or intentionally have incorrect information and often do.

Just finalized my order for a snow white pearl SX prestige with grey nappa interior AWD. West Herr Kia, Orchard Park, NY. They told me they submit their orders once a month and it would be transmitted 1st thing Monday morning, 1/20 and there should be an acceptance by 1/24 with a status update for me. Expected delivery, I have been repeatedly assured, is end of March. Could potentially spill over into 1st or 2nd week of April if something doesn’t flow as usual.

The promised/suggested delivery dates for a SX-P appear to vary with the wind. Our order is forecast at 4-6 months (ordered in Nov.) We will be ecstatic if we have it by the end of March.

Checking the spreadsheet and the tellurides coming into my dealer each month, I have confidence that my order is going to be accepted and (fingers crossed) fulfilled in the timeframe I was told. The dealer allocations seem to have a lot to do with how long these are all taking to come in. Mine seems to be a relatively high volume dealer for our area and getting what they order before the timing gets ridiculous. I ordered my current car thru their Subaru arm and it took pretty much 3 months, coming from Japan though. That being said, I’m risking being without a car after 3/31, as I have to turn in my leased Subaru

Keep in mind all manufacturers let’s you extend leases month to month.. check with Subaru.. will be much cheaper than rental

I’ve already extended the lease and that will be the end of the 6 months allowed. I was told there are no further extensions when I did it too I should have pulled the trigger on the telluride sooner. I had decided to keep my forester until I realized last week that it has $1800 worth of repairs needed and the warranty is expired. Plus, I’m not thrilled with it anyway and buying it would make my payments go up substantially. And I loved the telluride...

Good tip though!! I should have stated. Good news is the repairs arent currently critical to vehicle operations, so I can just coast along until my telluride comes in. I don’t need AC in Buffalo right now...! Etc. The dealer will hopefully work out something if I need an extra week or two with the forester or a loaner.
