Order to delivery time

The wait time is up to 8 months for a prestige model?! This is up from the six months you quoted back in January when I ordered. Have you all had that much demand since then? This is shocking. Good for you and for KIA...but wow...8 months. Curious from you and other dealerships. Has demand remained strong so far this year in terms of placing orders? Also - are any of the other dealerships seeing any positive movement in delivers from the plant now that KIA increased production?
If anything I say demand on orders have increased. I put 5 orders in myself on Monday. Have another one I’m doing this morning. Everything fully disclosed on wait times. I am seeing positive movement on Tellurides from factory just in the total numbers we are receiving. Just at the end of the day getting more orders put in then Tellurides being built. This will be a good month to see how increase is coming when KFOS opens up mid month.

Ordered a Gravity Grey SX with Prestige package from Fairfax Kia on 2/8. Just got word that we now have an ETA of 4/20. Hopefully that ends up being true! If it is, that would be incredible compared both to original expectations from dealer (3-4 months) and what I'm hearing from most on this thread. *knocks on wood*

Wow Congrats. That is a shock. According to this site: TellyStats they are a low volume dealership. Only showing 36 Tellurides sold from them. I wonder if it is one they already had on order or someone backed out. If neither of those situations then you got incredibly lucky. I have ordered from a relatively high volume dealership (top 25% in Telluride volume) and the wait is much much longer. I ordered in January and my estimate is in the May-July time frame depending upon allocations given each month.

Yeah, I've looked at that site too, but they were the only dealer in the DC area that wasn't charging like $7-8K above MSRP, so figured it was worth a potential wait. From everything I've read here, the high volume dealerships seem like a double edged sword. Lots more inventory coming in, but also lots more people ordering from them as a result that you have get in line behind. Maybe I found a good middle ground? Or just got lucky? Time will tell... Right now I'll believe that April date when I see my car.

Congrats either way. And definitely worth it to chance a wait and not pay over MSRP. Post pictures once you take delivery.

Would you be paying new (increased) price?
I hope not! I got a paper form of how much it’s gonna be when i placed the order. I’ll refer to that in case they want me to pay more!

If price increase happens before car goes into production most likely have price impact

Here are some pictures. Black Copper.
Thanks for sharing your Telly!! I see that you bought OEM KIA all weather floor mats. I would like to hear more about them. Compare to 3rd company?

For your situational awareness, if you're tracking my journey to purchase my Telluride: Lucas reached out to me in the wee hours this morning to let me know that Kia has picked up my order, and he'll be letting me know an ETA tomorrow. So I'm like a month or so out I'm guessing.

Also, it was filled outside of KFOS. So there’s that. Thanks Kia gods.

I agree, if an order was placed from 2019 that the manufacturer was unable to fill until 2020 or 2021 that’s on them. A deposit was taken and an agreement drawn up and given to the customer based on figures the dealership provided. By right in the eyes of the law it could be viewed and considered as a contractual agreement, especially for those dealership who refuse to refund deposits. The customer shouldn’t be responsible for paying an inflated price even if there getting a newer year car. The manufacture was unable to meet demands on orders placed and accepted tangible cash for those orders knowing they had an excessive back log that was abnormal for the industry. There’re people still waiting on back orders from 2019 and were already 3 months into the new year.

It’s in my signature block, but September 14.

Finally got my ETA today: April 9th after being allocated like February 19th.

For an April 9th ETA - any guesses on around when I would see a vin on the lookup website?

You were right before me. Great news...
You should hopefully get your allocation then next week when the next batch comes out through KFOS. For some reason Kia corporate decided to give Muncie some extra allocations outside KFOS and mine was one of them. I think you should be first on the list now?

Same time frame for me....Ordered Dec 7, allocated February with an ETA of April 7. Stalking the VIN Lookup site....hoping for a VIN soon.

Unfortunately, I actually cancelled. My wife got tired of waiting and we picked up an un-allocated order last Monday at MSRP. So some lucky SOB got bumped into my place. I wish I could've hung in there....

I mean, my guess is it's still going to be another month or so before I get my car, so I wouldn't worry about it. lol.
