We have been told today by KIA that a few Sold orders could end up being 2021 models. That is all the information we have. We have no further information to give. We will keep everyone updated as more information is available. Stay tuned.
Hi Jason: I was wondering about the definition of a sold order. Does the order already have to be entered into KFOS? Or is an order entered into KDealer also technically a sold order?

I'm curious too. My order was end of November, and last I checked I was #13 on the allocation list. At this point might as well get 2021 if they are imminent in the next few months.

If you are 13 on the list for an allocation at your dealership - then you are for sure getting a 2021.

As far as we know you are scheduled to get a, 2020. KIA gave us a short list of 4-5 orders that will be a 21. We have contacted those people. This could however change for all we know.
 
Good morning Folks...here we go, it's 6/1, any updates in KFOS for pushing through 2021 orders yet? Hoping for some good news this week.

My salesperson has been VERY helpful/transparent in this process but just caught them saying something I didn't like...I asked about how many allocations they get per month and they said "not many" but their custom orders came in a timely fashion before COVID. Then I said how many 2021 orders are waiting on your piece of paper going in KFOS before me, he answers quite a few...again NO number...but he said all of those people SHOULD get their custom order vehicle Sept...he's being honest that I won't get it for a long time...but not answering my other questions clearly is frustrating...

I can wait for 3 months...should I just sit tight with this guy, or move on? He never charged my CC for the $500 deposit. Assume he's doing that with KFOS opens up for 2021s...

If they didn't charge your CC - then I would be concerned that your place isn't secure.

He said he won't be charging my CC until more information comes out about physically ordering 2021's in KFOS. I can't disagree with that approach...but at the same time I hear where you are coming from.

My dealer charged my card back in January for my refundable deposit. It will be applied to the purchase price. As a result - he has communicated regularly each month as to where I am in line and there has never been any doubt as to when I would be able to order my car and where I was in the wait for an allocation. A paid deposit demonstrates commitment on the part of both the buyer and seller. I would rather have my card charged than risk have the dealer back out or have me lose my place in line claiming I hadn't paid my deposit. And I suspect that demand will remain strong all year for the 2021 Telluride - I don't want to miss getting one when my place in line dictates!

All valid points but your order actually went into KFOS at that time since it was in January.

@StephenCantrelle How are you handling new, prospective buyers approaching you for a 2021 Telly? Are you putting their name in line and charging their CC right on the spot or doing so once KFOS opens up for 2021s?

Can do it either way. But most are wanting me to call as soon as it is open to confirm pricing color/combo etc

This forum is going to blow up as soon as you announce 2021s are open for ordering in KFOS. I am literally going to drive down to the dealer (the one I ended up picking is 40 minutes away) and watching him put my build in...

Hope we get concrete details/pictures on Wolf Grey and the Blackout model before it opens up in KFOS to make final decisions!

So I have an order with you for a SXP from November 2019. About a month ago I texted my sales rep and he said I was about 12 on the waiting list. I have not been contacted by my salesman telling me I'm getting a 2021 so I must be getting a 2020?

Man, at this point I hope not. I'm a little behind you in line, and with 2021's right around the corner I'd rather have one of those, with the blacked-out package added on. I'm in no rush.
 
I find it amazing that a lot of these dealers have absolutely no clue what's going on... I put in my so-called "order" back in December of last year (2019), and my dealer cannot tell me anything... I've asked several softball questions, such as:

"How many allocations does your dealership get a month?"

"How many people are ahead of me?"

"Did you ever place the order into the system?"

"Will mine be a 2020 or a 2021?"

They cannot answer any of these questions... If I operated like that in my line of work, I'd be fired immediately.

Several months ago, I asked to change the color from Gravity Gray to Black. At that time, they said they could not make that change. I then said, "Oh! So the order was placed then?!" Answer, "I'm not sure..." I mean WTF?

Oh well... I'll continue to wait. I don't mind waiting. I've waited this long, and I'm happy to wait until this December, if I have to... I just want some simple answers to very simple questions... Is that too much to ask?

Good grief...
I'm in the same position. I ordered 10/5/19. I spoke with my sales rep 2 weeks ago and he couldn't answer any of my questions and seemed upset that I'd even ask. Unfortunately, this is the only dealership in the area not charging a markup. I'm in no rush but any communication would be great.
