However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. Order to delivery time

Ordered SXP (custom order through the Costco Auto Program, not an allocated vehicle) on October 15th (that date is not a typo!!) and was prepared for the estimated 3-6 month wait... but still no car, no VIN, no ETA, no info. My salesperson emailed yesterday out of the blue a vague message (keeping with the theme of the past 8 months of vagueness) that "the factory has opened production and the dealership is getting more orders filled and will email car info soon". Last month I was told I was #9 on my dealership's waitlist of Tellurides ordered. I have been watching the website and last week 5 Tellys were manufactured for my dealership (IL072), after months of zero. What are the chances my Telly will be built? What are the chances my order will be cancelled? @StephenCantrelle @Jason Fox I think waiting since OCTOBER is wearing on me, and with so much talk of what will happen with the backlog of 2020/2021 switch over, I am feeling defeated & powerless over here. I am so worried I will end up screwed with no car after all this time.

Unfortunately, that dealership has a bad reputation on the forum. Several other members posted that they had "ordered" from there, but their vehicles were never delivered. I believe that the dealership uses the "Costco" program to secure deposits, but doesn't order the customer's vehicle in KFOS in any reasonable timeframe if the market is demanding premiums. I.e., they are just stringing you along while they order vehicles not tied to sold orders that they can sell at a markup. They could get away with this if the order is never input into Kdealer. I haven't read of one successful delivery from that dealer - one person cancelled and looked for another vehicle. Another person used spreadsheet and VIN lookup tools to find their desired vehicle at a dealer in Wisconsin. And yet two others did similarly. You previously questioned your dealer's integrity... your hunch is right.

At this point, you are between a rock and a hard place. You can wait it out, and hope that your vehicle is delivered within the next 3 months. I would start to search for a vehicle that someone has backed out on via the VIN lookup tool. Problem is that production has been so slow for 2+ months - so markups are worsening and you might not be able to find it. Good luck.

I ordered an SX-P on 3/18 from I-25 Kia At MSRP and was originally given a 5/23 ETA. COVID pushed that to 7/14. I was notified today that my 2020 SX-P was changed to a 2021 and as far as they know, my ETA remains 7/14. I-25 Kia has been great in keeping me informed, but I’m not holding my breath the July ETA will hold.

Hope that's a high volume dealer. My SXP ordered mid November 2019, No ETA, No Vin, no call saying I've been changed to a 2021. The only saving grace is the order is at Muncie and I get Costco pricing and the Black Friday Special if/when it comes in.

There are folks on here from Muncie - really surprised you haven't heard from them since November of 2019.

As much as I love the Telluride, I’m tempted to search elsewhere as well. The way most dealerships (I say most because not all are guilty of this) have handled this has been nothing short of embarrassing. They seem to have little to no clue what they’re doing and most are gouging potentially long-term customers for a short-term bump in revenue while acting like the customer should be lucky to even have the opportunity to purchase the vehicle. Many of the dealerships I called on the West Coast acted like I was buying a Lamborghini, going so far as to insinuate I wouldn’t pay over MSRP because I “couldn’t afford it” as opposed to the reality that I refuse to be price gouged on my daily driver.

Maybe if Kia overhauled the mentality of most of their dealerships the brand could have a future as a respectable car company, but with every day that passes and every horror story I read about on this forum, my opinion of Kia returns to the gutter of 10 years ago, when the brand was little more than a low-budget throwaway option.

Obviously still very appreciative for these guys who are breaking the mould and helping people find vehicles at fair prices. Unfortunately they are few and far between.
I agree. This would be our first Kia as we have been overseas a long time and are used to European cars. It’s been hard to find what we want at a price we are “willing” to pay. Cars are ridiculously expensive now, so when we settled on give Kia, after a happen stance test drive, we thought it was settled. 6 months later and still nothing. I am probably going for a palisade now and I can get it now. I hate to abandon Kia but I am not willing to wait a year.

I25 as in Colorado? We’re in C Springs with no movement since Feb.

They will get right back to you if you email them. My order is at Munchie as well done the end of Nov. You don't get a VIN until its been ordered for production, which if I understand is done by the dealership's allocation. When your turn comes up then they get to have it made and then shipped. I think the VIN occurs at the time of assembly. Lucas and Jason at Muncie can let you know the details. I think I will still be a few months away once manufacturing restarts as I'm #13 on the allocation spot.

Wellllll, I MAY be getting my hands on an EX Premium, white with grey interior today! Dealership just called to let me know they got one on the lot yesterday that they weren’t expecting! Only issue is it’s AWD, which I don’t mind at all (I actually prefer AWD), just gotta see if it still fits within my budget overall! I guess I’ll have to be a little bit flexible considering how fast these cars are flying out of dealerships! Bad thing is, I can’t get to the dealership for about another 2 1/2 hours, so this tiny wait is going to kill me!!!

I’m really trying to temper my excitement just in case it’s sold before I get there, lol, which would totally be my luck! I’m just hoping that since it’s such a small volume dealership, there aren’t too many people jumping on it within the next 2 hours. Of course, my luck could also be that I walk away with this one today, and then the vehicle I put a deposit on that’s a 2021 shows up in early July, lol.

Both would be a win-win situation!

Good luck!

Sitting at dealer now, about to start the fun process!

I can't imagine the feeling...my date keeps getting pushed further out...actually - I don't even have a date. Good luck.

Yep I25 in Colorado. So you ordered from them in Feb and they haven't given you any updates regarding ETA?
We ordered in Colorado Springs. An nothing has been ordered. We are 4-5 on the list to then get into the KFOS system. They have 33 on the list and aren’t taking anymore orders as of now.
