Order to delivery time

They will get right back to you if you email them. My order is at Munchie as well done the end of Nov. You don't get a VIN until its been ordered for production, which if I understand is done by the dealership's allocation. When your turn comes up then they get to have it made and then shipped. I think the VIN occurs at the time of assembly. Lucas and Jason at Muncie can let you know the details. I think I will still be a few months away once manufacturing restarts as I'm #13 on the allocation spot.

If text I get a prompt response. Which I’ve done twice. No communication has ever been initiated by Muncie. In mid May I inquired and was told that I was “about” 12th in the que. Which might mean I was actually 12th or might mean no one looked it up because they were Too busy.

I do understand that for much of the last 7 months there was little or no news. But. A quick text or email saying hang in there we appreciate your business or maybe info on whether I’ll be getting a 20 or 21 would have been nice.

While it sounds like I won't learn much new material based on the quality of intel this forum has delivered, I'd love it if folks can add to my list of questions I have for them:

• How many orders are in the queue?
• How many SX AWDs are in front of me?
• How many SX AWDs do you average and allocate per month, pre-Covid?

These are questions I've seen others in the forum recommend asking, so they'll look familiar to a bunch of you. Thanks for your help, y'all!

They’ll have no information, won’t know what an allocation is, won’t realize there are other orders in existence, never heard of KFOS, and won’t know what an order number is. Be prepared for your dealer to be shocked, evasive, and possibly defensive based on the specificity of your questions. Young sales teams will have no idea, however seasoned sales teams and good GMs know the answers off the top of their heads and will be forthcoming.

You should ask how many SX’s are in front of you, not specifically AWD. Allocations are not at that level of detail, so you’d want to ask about how many SX’s in general are in front of you as you’ll be in line with all of the SX, SX AWD, SX-P

Wondering if people can start posting when they ordered and when they received their Kia (or at least the vin).

I ordered an sx prestige with tow on March 13. Nothing yet.

Many of the threads here have gotten hare to follow woth with the side conversations, it would be helpful to just keep this to dates for people’s reference.

I was told by two dealerships the 2020 orders if not complete will now be 2021s. The factory is switching over now. I ordered a 2021 a couple days ago and the delivery is expected October/November.

None. Simple order form and a $500 deposit. He said they place orders weekly. They had approximately 60 on order from this dealership and two on the lot available.

Okay, ya they just put your order in line.. can’t officially place orders for the 2021 yet.. the dealers here will post when it goes live again.

Thanks for the information. I am in the same situation as @Jcf and good to know what is actually taking place behind the scenes. I "ordered" an 2021 SX-P with Towing last week with a $500 deposit.

60 in front of you?!?! Damn the factory will be backlogged til 2023 at this rate! Whats the most monthly allocations for the highest volume dealer in the states do we know? 15/mo? KIA wishes they could crank em out like Ford or Toyota

Getting Dangerously close. I have 12 at the plant... only one left without** a Vin. Its a SX FWD model. Maybe Monday or Tuesday they will be done? just guessing

At this point, I don't mind waiting for the 2021s if Kia and their terrible dealers don't screw things up again. Kia needs to automatically enter the outstanding 2020s in KFOS based on order date. They shouldn't depend on the dealers to do it as I have no doubt in my mind they will mess it up.

My dealer just called to tell me they received an Black EX AWD today, but with the light grey leather. There’s no way my wife can do the light leather with the 2 wild boys we have as kids.

Believe me, I wanted to push her to take it, but she said she would wait. The black on black is supposed to be here in July.

I'm in the same boat unfortunately. Was told ours would be a 2020 as recently as this week but its not looking good. We'll see
