Order to delivery time

Our SXP was built on 3/26 and has been sitting at the factory parking lot for 12 weeks as of today. Our 5th ETA is now 7/10. Dealership said they have no control of the delivery. They have called to try and rectify the situation but no luck. Is there some sort of trucker shortage or something we are unaware of ? This is the very first and last Kia we will ever be buying. Told our many friends that are in the market for new cars to steer clear of them as well. I knew we shoulda have went with the Explorer. May end up flipping this car anyways so we won't have to deal with these clowns anymore.
Get the Explorer then.

Then just get the Explorer - you will free up that vehicle for someone that really wants one.. Ford is giving them away with their huge discounts on account of it has the worst quality interior of any mid size three row SUV on the market. The ST is a hot rod - but you have to deal with the 90's era cheap plastic interior. Of course even with the huge discounts - to get an equally loaded Explorer - you will still most likely pay more than a Telluride SX-P.

@G-782169,
So what's the deal? just give up the car and return the deposit

Yep I25 in Colorado. So you ordered from them in Feb and they haven't given you any updates regarding ETA?
The only update was after we went in and they looked it up. We are 4th in their list and that’s not even the KFOS systems. They keep calling us back to offer and color and model we don’t want and isn’t even close. They told us to plan for fall/winter possibly spring. Ummmm no thanks

Look for another reputable dealer.

We have and they are both saying the same thing. We are in lists and two different places. It’s a joke.

Yep, it looks like the calls are going out. I had checked in last week to see if my SX-P that I ordered late Feb, was picked up in KFOS in the March window, and was originally slated for June delivery was still going to be a 2020. As of last week, it was...although delivery had been pushed to July due to pandemic.

Today, I got the call that it is being pushed to a 2021 and August is probably the earliest delivery date. It sounded like my dealer (Abeloff in Eastern PA) was making a bunch of calls like this today.

I confirmed with my dealer (Abeloff in Eastern PA) that the 2020 SX-P with towing order that was in the system for me has been converted to a 2021 order. Cost increase total was $400. Newest ETA is 8/14, but we all know that is an estimate at best.

@Malibudude @Sokie,
to find out the status, strain the dealer and his employees. they can write a request to Kia Canada via email. Kia Canada responds within 24 hours. so you can at least find out the status of the order.
I have tried this and made several calls with no real answer. They have said when the order is accepted by Kia, it shows a status of “in fabrication” and usually the next update is when it is 90% built showing a shipping ETA. Basically, there is nothing to report until it is almost shipping. Have you had any luck getting a more accurate ETA or even the amount of units ahead in the queue?

Kia of Muncie notified me today the ETA for my EX AWD P/T, which was recently converted from a 2020 to a 2021 model, is August 22nd. Looks like the MSRP increased by $875. My original order date was March 17th.

Check again with Muncie.. Kia deleted and re-entered half way through the day Tow Package Tellurides.. it was showing initially a increase in price for Towing.. now no upcharge.. so should be between 400-500 difference in price.

@saltyorange I too am waiting for an incoming Telly SX-P of which I put a deposit on in early March from Abeloff. Last I spoke with them, they told me they "expect to have this wrapped up by the end of June" This was about two weeks ago over email. This was after @StephenCantrelle posted the training info post about the 2021s. They told me they would let me know if anything changed, but mums been the word since I reached out to them. When did you last speak with them?

Today actually. I emailed the sales manager I have been working with, Joe Gering. He has been responsive throughout. Usually calls me whenever I email him. Most of the time he is confirming what I have read here.

I was wondering if anyone here can offer some insight. I order back in January an SXP w/Dune I was told May it would be here. Then pushed to June. They gave me a screen shot of some Kia System that shows I guess the order, a partial VIN, my name and then a bunch of estimated dates included an estimated dealer arrival of June 11. ***I'm not sure what this was an actual screen shot of but I can post if anyone thinks it would offer some info*** Then when I read about the 2020's possible turning into 2021's I asked them about mine. They said no I'm still getting a 2020 and that 2021s are NOT coming out that soon but my delivery date is now Mid July. I've been look everyday in the VIN look up system and see nothing even remotely close to what i ordered for my dealership. Any suggestions of what I could ask my dealership to get some clarification.

Yes, post a screenshot and then the forum members can decipher it for you.

I was just informed that my SX Telluride formerly with an ETA of July 7 will now be a 2021 with an ETA of August 4. This is a dealer allocation that I put a deposit on, not a custom order.

Get the Explorer and enjoy the portrait style infotainment system with tiny screen for backup camera and watch out for those panel gaps to ensure you don't fall into them and disappear 🤣 🤣 😂 . The MSRP on the Explorer ST is a little over $60,000 for one in my area that the dealership has had for almost 6 months now and after rebates and discounts, they are still asking a little over $55,000 for it:rolleyes:. I waited a little over 5 months for my Dark Moss/Dune Brown SXP andI would do it all over again if needed and I wouldn't even mind if I had to wait even longer to get it as the Telluride is so much more luxurious than an Explorer dreams about being lol. My dealer below has plenty in stock on the Explorers if you want to call them and get one😁.
