Order to delivery time

I ordered a Telluride SX prestige from a smaller dealership. I ordered it a little over 5 months ago. The dealer keeps delaying the delivery date and now I am being told it may be August or September. I am beginning to wonder if larger dealerships are given preference by KIA over smaller ones. Has anyone experienced shorter wait times from large dealers?

No preference - just an allocation issue. How many they sell each month drives the number of units they are eligible to receive each month.

It's all about allocation. Bigger dealerships get more. Depending on where you are in line. I did not know that, getting into this, and just assumed that when I 'ordered' it to spec, it was ordered. Through the forums I realized that I was many months deep as my local dealership only got a few a month. SO i jumped on one that was listed here and bought.

It sounds like your car has been ordered or you're one of the next in line since they're quoting you Aug/Sept. I'm guessing your car was moved to a 2021 as many SX's were due to the pandemic and supply issues.

We ordered our SX-P w/tow December 7, 2019. We were notified by the dealer today that we are the first in line at their dealership for a 2021 SX allocation. Originally we were hoping for 6 months, now we are just hoping for the end of the year!

Nightfall Package and Black Edition Package do look to have identical options. That was a quick name change. Unless the Black Edition is black exterior and Nightfall is gray?

< UPDATED > I saw the other thread with the updated 2021 details. Looks like an official name change to Nightfall! That one with Black Edition sticker will be a unicorn.

I appreciate your name Passing Time. The VIN that popped up today does it match exactly what you ordered? If so odds are its yours. Frustrating not getting information so maybe if no word by end of this week, show up Monday and ask to speak with the GM. Emails and phone calls are easily...

Due to my ADD....I will not quit until I get this vehicle. But i can honestly say that the dealer and/or KIA really are trying hard to make me tap out!!!

I posted a month or so ago about having my 11/25/19 order canceled by the dealership because my dealer wouldnt take in KIA inventory. So KIA corporate punished the dealer. I was supposed to get vehicle on May 15.

To make a short story long....I called up KIA Corporate and spoke with consumer affairs......and i laid into them....A week later i get call from dealer GM saying that KIA consumer affairs called them and they would deliver me a car that was MY21.

I asked the Dealership GM to send me any info they have in regard to this matter....

Here is what i was emailed - I am guessing this was from dealer's rep to dealer GM

We have made a special production order for this customer and it went thru.

Internal VIN: 0007852329

Since it is being MY21 Telluride, we can’t allocate yet.
We will notify you as more details come available at later time.

Build Completion Date: TBD
Allocation Date: TBD
ETA to dealership: TBD

The internal number is given showing that a Telluride is assign to the dealership. It usually comes pared with an ETA.. this is a different circumstance as Corp Kia is involved.. so they probably provided dealer with internal number and now dealer is waiting for an ETA to be generated and your order to be visible internally(KFOS)

Looks like maybe the $1000 credit for Financing via Kia has been eliminated.
