  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Order to delivery time

I had a backup that I'm offering up here. Want that salesperson to keep that allocation on his tab.
Didn’t you call someone else out for doing the exact same thing?

Nice try - that guys allocations actually went into KFOS in both spots...

Last I checked that guy didn't try to look out for the salesperson he bailed on by finding a replacement either...

Wait @My Car is a 2001 are you still looking for an allocation? Might want to jump on this!!

I'm betting they had no issues selling the extra car that was ordered.
Right and I don't need to pitch my August allocation but I'm doing it for the salesperson that gave me his time of day...I already got my money back, but he loses if someone else in his dealership grabs that slot...

Dealers help us all day here, just returning the favor.

ETA is 08-04.. and tell the rep that is fine but if you agreed upon it you are not paying labor cost to add scuff plates and interior light or mud guards.. because installation will cost

Thank you!

Sorry, I wasn't trying to be a d*ck. We are all rowing in the same boat...
It’s all good, didn’t take it that way. I know you could take the heat. I’m in CA so a little weary of shipping across the country. That dealer likely already found a new taker

Guys on here are doing it all day, everyday. Cars technically come on train or truck all the way from GA to CA...it would just make a pit stop!

Muncie quoted me $1900 to Los Angeles. If you or anyone else wanted to use that as a reference for shipping cost. Colorado quoted $1000 so I went with them.

I was quoted 1k from MN to NJ...MN to CA might a bit further but I'd say floating 1k for a run to truckers will definitely get you hits.

Is that possible? Is there a way to put up a bid like that to truckers?

Oh
Yes that's what dealers use. It's like eBay. They post the details and wait for someone to agree to the terms/pricing, etc.
oh cool! Is that open to the public? Do you have a link?

@JerseySXP I'm not able to message you.
Guys I have a pre-order I'm bailing on that I put in literally 2 days ago out of frustration.

Out of state shipper, MSRP, class act. He knows the system.

He's very certain that I would get into his August Allocation - message me if interested for his details.

Thanks - P

Can't message you. I'm interested.

The Telluride I ordered was unloaded from the truck Wednesday morning and after a day and a half and no phone call, I dropped by and was poking around looking at it, my salesman actually came out, recognized me so I asked him if this was my car and he said yes. (I knew it was.) So I asked what was up and he said that they weren't calling anyone until they had been inspected and the shop was backed up at the moment.

So I cruise by the next day around lunch, (Friday) and it's gone so I figure it's getting it's inspection. No call on Friday, no call on Saturday. It's common for these things to sit on the lot for a week or better before I see them disappear. I'm guessing that since these are all pre sold that they figure they're money in the bank so I'm starting to wonder if they wait until it's really slow and there's no one else around to sell another car to before they call someone in for their Telluride.

I'm not really complaining, it's just an annoyance that after people wait 5 months, they don't rush to put people in their cars. We will see when they call...
Update: No deal.

Here's the story:
I was disappointed that my car wasn't pushed to a 21MY so I've been on the lookout for a 2021 ever since I got my VIN. The 2021 EX P/T has all the upgrades I planned on doing to mine. Bigger than all that is the fact that I didn't want to pay a premium price for the outgoing model year. I figure if I drove off the lot in a 2020 and another guy drove the same trim but 2021 off the lot today, his car would be worth a couple thousand more than mine pretty much right out of the gate. Of course he's going to pay a little more up front but by the time I add RS, 7pin tow harness and LED headlights, I'm going to pay more in the long run.

Timing played a factor as well. Had it shown up a couple weeks ahead of time, I would have bought it. I missed out on using it on all my summer trips. Had I been able to put some miles on it this summer before the 21s came out, I would have been happy with the price and would've been glad to be done with the waiting game.

None of this was in mine or the dealer's control. I like my salesman and aside from it taking a week to get me in to take delivery and the price being higher than when I ordered because they tacked on floor mats, my experience with them was positive. In the end, I wasn't comfortable with the deal.

A week before my order hit the lot, I was able to find the same car but (2021) at a dealer a couple hundred miles away and put a deposit down. It was a factory allocation posted by a dealer here on the forum. I wanted to give my original dealer a chance to make a deal on the 2020 but, unwilling to budge on price, it made my decision to walk away easy. Had I not found the 2021, I would've just bought the 2020 that I ordered.

So, it sucks that I had the car I waited 5 months for in my driveway and walked away (took some serious self restraint) but I'll be much happier in my 2021 due early September.20200722_183836.webp
