dang! I wish I went to Salem! I went through Ron Tonkin. Did pay Little over msrp but nothing like Beaverton kia markup. I’m same with you want my new toy now lol

also Beaverton Kia lost my service business out of principle for price gouging. I’ll drive to Gresham to get my oil changes

Ya they lost my business last year when I was checking out a Telluride and the salesman told me that they are overpriced and would be out of my range without asking me what I did for job or anything just completely judged me for being younger then his typical customers

If you don't mind me asking, what is the "market adjustment" that Ron Tonkin is charging? When I cancelled my order through Weston Kia (which to their credit was very transparent and didn't give me any drama about cancelling, since I was getting a better deal through Power Kia which is why I'll go there for service) they swore that they were the cheapest market adjustment in PDX at $3k which I believe since Beaverton wanted $7k above MSRP. Frankly I was surprised Westin didn't just drop down to MSRP to keep the deal, but they must have customers lined up to pay the vig.

@StephenCantrelle or any other person/dealer salesperson who may help-

As mentioned previously on here about my Kia saga .....On Nov 25, 2019, I ordered a Black Telly SXP+T. I put down $500 and was given a ETA of 12 weeks. Feb 16, 2020 came and gone......then March started Covid-19 with delays at the factory. I was then given a May 15, 2020 ETA by dealership. That came and gone so instead of calling the Kia dealership, I called KIA Consumer Affairs in Georgia. They were somewhat clueless about my order even as i explained everything politely.

But at of the blue, the dealership called me a week later. They said that KIA HQ spoke to dealer GM and said they would put me at top of list and convert to 2021 order. My ETA was either July or August.

On July 8th, 2020, Dealership GM was excited to email me the attached correspondence they received from KIA. It's an allocation commitment report with my original order vehicle as a MY2021. The ETA, as you can see, reads 8/22. Dealership emails a few days later that the ETA was 9/4. Then a few days later it went to 8/25 and sticks there now.

Today is 8/8 and i have emailed the dealership for a VIN # or anything. I look on Failcat every day and dont see it and then @Stephen mentioned the dealer sees VIN#s a few days before we get to see them.

So to make a short story long, have you ever seen a car in transit and delivered without receiving any record of VIN# a few weeks prior? Is this SUV ever gonna come? I tried calling KIA consumer affairs again at beginning this week and they are literally dolts that work there. They do not ever give you a straight answer. Its like they play dumb but they are not really playing. They did reach out to dealer and dealer text me 3 days ago saying that they would reach out to me when SUV is transit and the ETA is still 8/25.

There is no quit in my game.....but this is starting to make me feel foolish. The only light at end of tunnel is this was a MSRP deal in Nov. 25, 2019. should be interesting to see if the dialogue changes if and when this crown jewel ever reaches the dealership.

Thank you for any insight. Check out the attached.

My VIN was generated 8/7/2019. ETA originally was around 8/20. Showed up on 8/12/19. So yes, it can still be built within a week of arriving at dealership. Just keep watching. If it's not built by early September, then maybe your dealership is giving you the run-around. But, your dealership should have all the answers, and they should have an internal number already and it should have a schedule in the computer. Ask for a screenshot for the internal VIN that you are getting that matches what you are buying.

Ya that is the cheapest in Portland. Our was 4K. When I talked to Gladstone they had 7 available and in the afternoon I went in there and they sold 5 and there was another person that was about to purchase one. I know they where not lying to me because my uncle knows the GM real well and said that the demand is so high in Portland that’s why the mark up was so much and they really sold 7 that day. They where asking more but lowered it a little for me. Still wish it was closer to the MSRP but we just wanted to get one ordered to get a car since i have a lease that will be up soon and would be out of a car if I waited longer. Sales manager talked us into the EX we wanted a SX but he said that the demand is so high in Portland that it would be at 10k over with no wiggle room because that is what the owner wants. So crazy! Never bought a car at msrp or over.

If you look at the attachment on my post, this is what the dealer emailed me on July 8, 2020. It is 100% the specs of the car i ordered including exterior/interior color, options and SXP+T.....

But it's just lists an ID# and not a VIN#.....KIA HQ is no help and the dealership uses the regional sales manager as the in between them and KIA. Honestly, they do not keep the customers in the loop.

I am just trying to figure out if i am being over-reactive since i don't have a VIN# so close to the newest ETA of 8/25.
I'm sure the dealer will let you know when the VIN is created. If I remember correctly, mine arrived at the dealer not much after the VIN was created. It's not worth it getting worked up yet. Give it a few more days. The big unknown is the shipping time after it is built.

Ouch, but from what everyone says the Telly is worth it. Have you taken delivery yet?

I'm having the same issue with the same dealer.
Follow up: dealership (general manager) could not provide me ANY proof they ordered my telluride. I am in the process of getting my deposit back (involving a complaint with the BBB) and I’ve placed a new order with Crowley Kia. Good luck at Yonkers, they’re the worst. As soon as I get my money back I’m roasting them on every single review site I can find.

Sorry to hear this. You placed an order in January? Too bad you now have to wait longer, especially when you were supposed to pick it up this month.

Showing IN Transit to Power Kia ETA 08-29

Check out this months Consumer Reports on best new SUVs. VW Atlas does not score well on many categories, including reliability. I wouldn't take an Atlas if it was free, they have no "pick up" acceleration. No winning points with current owners.

Would you be able to post that report? My wife wants an Atlas (or Volvo xc-90) but I want the T-ride.

Good morning!! This group is awesome. @StephenCantrelle could you check on 5XYP5DCHC4MG096463 please. The dealership has been less than informative on my Black Copper SX nightfall..
Any help would be appreciated

When I first contacted our dealership they gave me a 4-9 month timeframe for SX with Prestige orders. When we finally got in there to order they said it could be 6-12 months. We put our order in on July 8th, so we’re a month in.

I’d be interested with what others are seeing in the VIN turnaround time for SX/Prestige his summer.

I put in an order for an SXP with Nightfall at the end of July 27 or 28. I was told 4 - 6 months with a possibility of as early as September. Not holding my breath for Sept but that would be oh so sweet.
