If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Order to delivery time

Are you going through Bill Barth or GF Kia? They don't get many allocations, you'd probably be better off finding another dealer.
To be honest about this - my dealer wasn't trending many allocations either but in August so far they are crushing the amount of SX trim they have received.

Not sure if it's a rare occurrence, old orders, or a new trend of dealers getting more allocations.

We have 3 dealers in ND. When I search the last 50 cars for ND on Failcat, one dealer had 32 and the other 2 combined for 18. The breakdown for the last 25 is 17 and 8. One of the dealers gets 2 or 3 a month.

With Kia dealers being 100-200 miles apart for us here, many people only shop local. It's kind of insane, Fargo has a metropolitan area of like 250k people and we don't have multiple dealerships for any brand. Bismarck has two Ford dealers and two Chevy dealers, their metro is half the size. Otherwise, there's no competition around here, you probably have to drive an average of 50 miles to get to another dealer of the same brand in ND and the small towns basically have Ford and Chevy.

I think that people at these low volume dealers will just sit and wait forever if they're not proactive.

I’ve been vocal about my build being an EX-P FWD in BCP. It interests me that in June/July, Kia pumped out all these S Trims, including a ton in BCP, and these NEs.
That paint color hasn’t been sprayed onto an EX FWD at all. Of course, other trims saw this color starting for MY21, but 0 FWDs have been produced in that color.

Since this thread is about order to build time, my order was put in before the trim even saw this color, so I’m wondering what the wait time will be after they start spraying this trim in this color.

The thought process going on, across many things, intrigues me.

If in Kdealer and not filled yet they can edit your order but you will get new Dealer Request number..(pushing you back on the list) but internally they could in theory keep you in same order for KFOS though...
Spoke with my dealer today and upgraded to Prestige. Just as you advised, the change created a new Kdealer order but they will be maintaining my place in the KFOS queue. Thanks for the guidance

@StephenCantrelle , as @My Car is a 2001 upgraded a package but kept the same trim, would it work the same if changing trims? Say LX - S, S - EX, EX - SX?

Yes would work the same way.. KFOS opened today so if you need to edit or make changes to order need to call right now to get it done... Wait time changes if going from say a SX FWD to SX AWD.. so need to check with your dealer if that is the case..

A LX to S or EX would be easy

Big day today--I received the VIN for my EX AWD P/T! Ordered on 3/17 from Kia of Muncie (communications with Lucas have been excellent!), and ETA is 8/31. Now I just have decide on a name for the new addition to our family...

Does anyone know the actual dates that KFOS was closed for orders this Spring and summer?

@StephenCantrelle or any other dealer willing to be so kind as to check the ETA of my VIN? VIN is 5XYP5DHC6MG106071

Last time I checked here and with the dealer, my ETA was 08/16/2020.

It's done by Month. Usually open around mid-month. No orders went in during the factory shutdown.
I know. I was just curious when that actual time frame was?

I know it’s usually from the 15th to the 17th. At the same time I read here on another topic from a dealer @StephenCantrelle that they opened today for this month.

Tough to know the exact days. The 15th is a Saturday this month so KFOS opened up "early". For exact dates you would need a dealer to jump in here...
This month opened today and closes Sunday.. usually falls mid month

In transit! ETA 08-17! Going to be some long nights coming up.. almost like Christmas Eve

So I was wrong - the FWD SX doesn't get the Michelins. You have to get the AWD LX, EX or SX to get Michellins. This is what I could find from KIA:

LX FWD - 245/60R18 Pirelli / AWD - 245/60R18 Michelin
S FWD - 245/50R20 Pirelli / AWD - 245/50R20 Pirelli
EX FWD - 245/60R18 Pirelli / AWD - 245/60R18 Michellin / Premium Package FWD&AWD 245/50R20 Pirelli
SX FWD - 245/50R20 Pirelli / AWD - 245/60R20 Michelin / Prestige - 245/60R20 Michelin

I assume the Nightfall package gets the Michelin's as well - but I couldn't confirm.
Maybe we need a new thread to talk more about tires...but like others have said, I wonder why Kia put Michelin on EX AWD but not on EXP AWD. Wonder if the dealer would swap?

Ordered this December 3, 2019 came in yesterday. Drove down to Casper, Wyoming today and just got home. This car drives itself. Lol 2021 BlackCopper SX P/T 33E1277F-3637-4304-9494-A781F9541B50.jpeg
