Order to delivery time

Oof, that’s rough, sorry to hear that. Have you put any money down on a deposit for your original order?
Yup. But that's the thing, they are tied to the agreement we committed to with the deposit(we bought at MSRP and no dealer markup), however, as it's been posted here, they're marking these things up like crazy and people are paying it. So, if a dealer has an opportunity to sell a car at a markup vs. make a customer happy and knock an order off the books, they'll sell at a markup all day long. It's economics, I get it, but I would never buy a car from this dealership, nor refer them ever again. Heck, I might buy another car since I might have to, but keep this allocation and sell it at my cost vs letting them take the order over and sell it at their markup.

We ordered from FL112, 2020 Snow White Pearl/Gray SX-P/T(it was converted to a 2021). The reason I came seeking advice is that they've had a few allocations of SX-P's and SX-P/T's. I called since one recently came in in the same color combo(looked in up on the site) , it just didn't have the tow package but had been cancelled by a customer. We tried to see if they would let us take that one, even though it was missing some options we ordered, most importantly the tow package. The dealer insisted that the only way they would sell that one to us was if they installed all the missing accessories(put aside the differences between factory and dealer installed tow packages), charged us $1200 due to MSRP changes(which is really only $400, but we are OK with that) but then another $5300 for the missing accessories (which was basically the tow package, illuminate scuff plates and mud guards). We obviously passed, but then when we pressed them on our order, they've now gone silent.
People have gradually lost their humanity! It really sucks how some dealers are taking advantage of us buyers just because of the demand.

ETA Update...now 10/27... Happy Friday.

Oh no man, what’s going on!

9/13 to 10/27 is a big jump......WTH.

Wonder what impact I‘ll see. Don’t plan to follow up until a month after my first ETA was received now.

I just about had a minor heart attack today... I put my name on a new 2021 SX NF back on July 17th... ETA 8/29. This week I was texting with my salesperson trying to arrange for them to send over a purchase agreement/order so I could turn it over to my credit union to finish up the loan and issue a check so it was ready to go at delivery. The salesman went radio silent after promising to get that Purchase Agreement to me by Thursday. He wasn't responding to texts or phone calls. I finally called the dealership directly and turns out that my salesman went on leave and didn't tell me. After a very anxiety filled 20 minutes while I tried to get in touch with a sales manager.. No joke, I was looking at Hylanders online and just going to go buy one of those if this deal fell through.

He finally called me back (which was actually pretty quick, but felt like forever) Turns out I still have my name on my Telly but they are being a little janky with the financing. I know they want me to go through with their financing but I got a killer promotional APR with my credit union and I don't think they can match it. I did find out that they are now marking up by $5k but are honoring MSRP for mine since I put it on hold back in July. Buying a car should not be this difficult. But rarely is anything worth anything easy.

I did speak with @StephenCantrelle briefly on the phone and he's very nice and upfront. Too bad I'm so far from Texas.

I just had my ETA for an SX FWD w/ tow pushed from 10/2 to 10/31. Surprising to see so many ETAs slipping despite impressive production output.

Hey all, just wanted to share the good news!!!! Today I got extremely lucky and finally got my hands in to the trim and color combo I wanted at my local dealers which at the beginning was originally charging $8,000 over MSRP. Long Story short the sales man made a mistake and gave the general manager the wrong stock number (which was a moss/black SX non prestige) when I sat with the manager he said make me an offer, I said 49 (sticker price 48,162) and Ill take it home home today, to my surprise he immediately agreed thinking it was the the other SX (sticker price 45,135). It was 9pm store was closing so I left and came back to this afternoon to pick up when the manager saw he immediately said "you stole this truck you lucky MF" lolz!!! no turn back we had an agreement, signed contract and walked away a happy customer (SX Prestige 2021 Moss/Dune brown) as I'm writing this history I still can believe got so lucky!!!! Here some pictures of my new RIDE!!!!

Opposite happened to me. I called a dealer when I saw the inventory show up on Kia.com. The salesman said, "hey that car gets here tomorrow!" I asked for the price and he told me it was sticker. (SX-P with tow and side steps in dark moss). When I got to the dealer the following morning, with two bank checks, the guy puts down on a napkin the cost of MSRP + $5000. He swore that he never quoted me at sticker. Moral of the story learned there, get it in writing. You got extremely lucky.

looking for some insight. End of last month I was able to put a deposit down on a dealer allocated nightfall sx. ETA was 8/18, hasn’t arrived. My salesman tells me “ there’s no way to track, we are at the mercy of the railroad, there no communication from Kia.” I do have a VIN and a window sticker but it’s not showing up on failcat under VIN or the dealership. What I’m wondering about is I see others have a second and third ETA. So “ if there’s no way to track” then how does everyone else seem to know when their cars are expected. I’m frustrated as I feel like I’m not getting some of the info that I see is available. So, is my car actually on its way? Is there a way to see if it’s actually delayed and I’m not being told? Thank you

The lower trims of Telluride also have audible alerts, for blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic, etc. In case you like to wear polarized sunglasses or don’t want to focus on some tiny numbers on your windshield!
Those tiny numbers are adjustable in size sir :)

Some good news for those of us with the Gravity Gray/Black SX AWD P/T orders. There's been only 12 total built with this combination since the end of June, but already 5 hitting failcat today.

Yeah - it is a rare combination. However - you have to include the "Gravity Grey" color name. They changed it mid June. So far this year - out of the total Prestige Production of 6,305 - only 210 match this color and option combination.

@StephenCantrelle is the best. These horrid delays on my car aren't his fault. If it was any other salesman - I think I would have bailed. Stephen has done everything he can to keep me informed. Out of his control.

Your salesman is right. Your car has been built. I don’t think they would update the ETA after that. The only thing that will cause a delay now is shipping speed. Should arrive any day.
