Order to delivery time

I needed it. I love failcat, but the dealer codes mean nothing to me, so I exported the data to excel and made myself a google spreadsheet I can update with dealer names, some notes, and the sold/available status so I stop looking at the same vehicle I already looked at. Now I just add to the list if more options become available, which is easier than before.
That is awesome and very thorough! I would have done this too but I ended up ordering an SX-P over the weekend. I put a $1K refundable deposit down. I ended up paying 2K over MSRP unfortunately, but I think it is still worth it, compared to the competition.

When looking on failcat, are the dates the VIN creation date?

I went to Napleton Elgin Kia in Elgin, IL. They were honest and said we don't want to lie and guarantee 2 or 3 months. It will likely take 8-10 months. I test drive an EX NF and my father-in-law loved it.
Just an FYI that I ordered from Elgin Kia on October 17th and I still don't have my Telluride. That's a little over 10 months ago. I will be SHOCKED if it arrives before the year mark, as I don't even have a VIN yet, just an order number from KFOS that came in a couple weeks ago. So they are not lying when they say it's gonna take a while, especially if you order an SX like me. If you are in a pickle with a lease ending, this may be something for you to be aware of, that their 8-10 month estimate might be off.

Yep, been using a combination of tools - failcat (called 26 dealers in the Mid-Atlantic and NE so far), facebook (found what I wanted, but with nightfall, which I really don't like), AutoTrader, and a tracking spreadsheet I made for myself to keep track of this craziness :D
Since the deposits are refundable you should place an order with whichever dealer can get you into KFOS the quickest but keep doing what you're doing with FC and keep calling around for the chance that you find your unicorn. But you want to put an order in ASAP so that in case you DON'T find your perfect telly, you'll have that order to fall back on.

Hi, I’m new here! I’m trying to navigate through the thread, but feel like I’m lost. What’s the average time people are being told/hearing when ordering a Telluride right now? We ordered last week (Wolf Grey EX Premium/Nightfall) and were told potentially 8-9 months, but it seems like online I’m seeing much shorter time frames from people who have ordered in the last month or two. Were they just trying to prepare me for a long wait due to demand when it actually will arrive a lot sooner, or am I missing something? If it makes a difference, I’m in WA and ordered from a dealer who sells for MSRP.

It's probably because you are ordering the Wolf Gray. I don't think they even started producing those yet.

Many people that "ordered" in the last week or two placed deposits on incoming NF allocations. These weren't even in KFOS to order when KIA started producing them. Very different than those of us that ordered SX Prestige trims 8-12 months ago while we still wait.

Other dealerships had them inbound/one on the lot (but wanted $8000 over MSRP) so I know they’ve started producing them.

I don't think they've started producing them yet. I am getting a factory allocation that's "incoming". I put a deposit on it first week of July and it's yet to be built. So, incoming may mean it's been allocated.

You might be thinking of the Everlasting Silver. Markups are pretty common on all colors/trims.

I was told wolf grey with nightfall by three dealerships. 🤷‍♀️
Oh that's odd, I don't think I've seen on on FC yet. We would all be talking about it if it had. I can't even find a photo of one on google other than that one article announcing it.

There are none on FC yet. You are correct.

Thank you so much!
Hi I have also ordered from Hilltop. Not in KFOS yet but a kdealer order number acceptance authorization. With owning one and one on the way from Hilltop, could you please advise on the Finance Dept. experience. No markup off MSRP and told no extra fees other than the tax license dmv fees for CA What was the dealer prep/doc fees charged? Any pressure or other fees added above MSRP? I know it will be quite some months before arrival but doing my homework ahead of time. I like them for their honesty thus far working with them since May. I canceled an order with the Modesto Kia due to lack of transparency and a 2K markup. Thanks

Some random stats for those waiting for news...any news...on their car. Looks like August is on track to have the highest Average Transaction Price this year. And with all the SXP's still out there waiting to be built - I see no reason this trend stops with August!!! Of course these numbers don't include PIO or dealer markups. KIA and the dealers are getting rich off this car. Now - if they would build mine - I would bring my $50K to add to the YTD sales.
