  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Hi all,

Due to some budget/financial constraints within my family, my wife and I have decided it's simply not the right time for us to take on a car payment. (Yeah, that makes me super sad – I was so excited about our Telluride).

We have an order for a 2022 MSRP Telluride SX, Dark Moss, FWD, with Black leather interior from Gossett Kia South in Memphis, Tennessee that is set to arrive April 11, 2022 (salesman gave this update yesterday). (No VIN yet in Failcat yet).

We've put a 1k non-refundable deposit down, so what I'm hoping to is that if someone were interested in getting a Telluride sooner rather than later, that maybe they would be willing to reimburse me for the 1k and we'd transfer the order over to them. I have the receipt and order form for the car with the total price that I'm happy to share. We've approached our salesman who is good with us transferring the order to someone else.

Please let me know if you're interested.

Tim

My heart hurts over not getting this vehicle but we had to make the tough decision to wait a couple of years for a car purchase at the moment. I'm just trying to A. Recoup my 1k and B. help someone else out who wants one.

At this moment in time, your best financial strategy would be to buy the car outright in April, then sell immediately to Carmax or Vroom or Carvana or.... and walk away with a few extra thousand in your pocket.

It's in consideration – just not guaranteed it would work out that way, and if it doesn't, it's possible I could end up losing more than my 1k deposit.

I have the option to simply walk away and lose 1k, which isn't going to kill us – but it's obviously not ideal either.

You didn't get a refundable deposit?

Gossett Kia South's deposits are non-refundable.
Did you sign anything? Some sort of acknowledgment that it was non-refundable?

Hey, I wish your tough times pass on very quick and you get your day sooner. My friend is looking for the exact combo, and he is willing to take this car. Please let me know how can I contact you.

Someone has already offered as of now but I'll let you know if it falls through.

Do you have a new Telluride you would be willing to price out on Carvana or others to see what brand new ones are valuing at?
