• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Hello all,
I picked up my new 2021 black SX Nightfall yesterday. (Pictures are coming) We absolutely love it so far! Looking it over I am wondering if anyone has either painted or powder coated the brake calipers? Seems like it would add a pretty cool look to me. I searched and did not find anything on this but apologize if there is already a thread on this. Any information, ideas or pictures if someone has already done this would be most appreciated!

Best to all,

Jeff

Wow! Looks great! I was not aware you could get covers. I will certainly look into this. Seems like a much easier and cost effective solution. Thanks for the information!

Some have installed covers while others have hand painted the caliper. All depends on how much work you want to do

If you want a thinner stronger coating than powder coat, check out www.cerakote.com

Cerakote Projects & Photos | Cerakote Gallery search “brake calipers” for lots of examples

I painted the calipers on my sons Sportage , easy to do and results are great , remove wheel , thoroughly clean calipers with caliper cleaner spray , thoroughly dry ( heat gun or hair dryer ) , mask off all surrounding areas and spray with Caliper Paint ( I used red ). I put on 3 coats , great look , easy to do

I painted mine with the G2 caliper paint kit. Fairly simple, no masking if your careful with the small paint brush, and very affordable at under $60 on Amazon. They have many different colors to choose from.

Thanks for the great information! I like the red and the hand painting I could do.

Thank you! Appreciate the info!

+1 to @westcoastTelly.

Super easy to do. I recommend VHT spray paint as it tolerates high heat well.

Most important part is cleaning/prepping the surface prior to painting.

Been considering doing this...but I'm not really a 'car guy'. Never done anything like this before. How complicated would this be? What kind of time commitment might I be looking at? TIA
