• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Just got my new telluride last night. What is the beat option for a phone mount? Not a cup holder mount. Thanks

Vent holder with a magnet. A pop socket with a metal plate or just a metal plate works for me.

I found this one through one of the threads here. Works really great for me. It’s on the left of the infotainment screen and the MagSafe holds great.

Does it work through a case, or do you not have a case around it. Thanks

Would this work? My husband has this for his truck and loves it just not sure if Telly has the space? Mines not here yet but buying stuff already lol.

I use the Waze app on my present car I just plug into car play and my Waze shows on navigation screen so honestly if that works for Telly I guess I don’t need a mount bc I do not look at phone or text while driving , prefer Waze vs built in navigation. Better directions, cop alert, accident, traffic alerts and diverts seamlessly.

It works great. I have a MagSafe case tho. Not sure how great it would work for nonmagsafe cases.

I bought a car phone mount called SP Connect on Amazon and shaved down the 2 plastic pieces on the face of it and attached a MagicMount Pro XL magnetic mount to it using the adhesive backing and it works great.

Pics of the items I bought and of it mounted between the touchscreen and the gauges.

I have an iPhone 12 Pro Max so you can choose the smaller MagicMount if you have a smaller phone.

I finally found a good phone mount solution for my Telluride! It is meant to clamp a cell phone on a microphone stand, and it clamps perfectly onto the grab bar between the seat and console. I added a piece of sponge-y shelf liner to protect the leather wrap on the grab bar. Let’s see if I’m allowed to add a link : https://www.amazon.com/dp/B077L9742K?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details.

Here are some photos of the Grab Bar Phone Mount that is working well for me. It wouldn’t be hard to modify it to a magnetic mount. (I can post info, if anyone is interested). Just be sure to get the (Bike, Handlebar or Microphone Stand) Mount that is open ended, so it will fit onto the Telly’s squarish grab bar. Some bike mounts are too round and close completely around ( the wixgear version for example).755E50FD-1903-48D5-8F15-5AB68347CCDA.jpeg91E5E1E2-5C66-488C-805D-240BE00E1F15.jpeg7E428980-73FA-47A5-924E-F12BB0F3D2D9.jpeg3623EA6D-D506-4FF0-9351-DF0BAC711E18.webpD03B33CA-9786-400A-8331-3080C2441AB2.webp

This could work!

I’m also exploring a dock (that easily plugs in to usb) so I can use wired CarPlay, which has superior voice quality over wireless CarPlay, especially using Siri.

I just got my Telluride a few days ago and ordered this package which included the company's first and second generation designs. I wanted to compare them. They are vent mounted and there are two mounting designs. One just clips onto the vent slat and the other clips to the slat but also has a piece with two padded touch points that sits on the trim below the vent. The mounts are interchangeable so you can use it with either holder.

I chose this type of holder because we have three drivers in the house and rather than apply metal plates to everyone's phone, I like the idea that this is universal fit.

The newer design holder on the left uses the weight of the phone and gravity to secure it into the holder.
The original design (on right) requires that you squeeze the ratcheting pieces on the side. Then you push a button the left side to release the phone. It's a bit more bulky looking but very secure.

I personally like the gravity style holder but can live with the squeeze one too. It will be the final decision of the Boss (wife) to make. It is "her" car....but I drive the most. But whatever...she can have seat memory #1. LOL.

Here are some photos.
