Thanks to numerous test drives, this forum and seeing all the pictures everyone posted I am ready to place an order for a 2021 SX-P AWD EVERLASTING SILVER, Nightfall edition with Nappa Dune seats and Towing package.

The final decision on which of the below packages and options I want is all that is left. So far the mirror & side step bars are all I think I need but I have to look more closely as maybe these are included in the SX. I'll be ready by Monday. Please let me know what you think about any options you like or regret not getting after now having your ride.

Goodness gracious, @Happy Idiot! You’re going to either be happy or feel like an idiot if you add all of those accessories on!! That’s a fully loaded vehicle right there. Congrats on whatever you decide.

without having my ride yet, here’s my .02

Some of those accessories are unnecessary comfort items. However, if that’s what you’re after with getting a top trim vehicle, then go for it.

the interior lighting is ‘cool’ but unnecessary. Heck, I’m a light guy and I didn’t/wouldn’t do it, but I did do lit door sills (I think they’re practical from a scuff perspective and if I’m going to pay for the non lit ones, I might as well add to the cost for ‘cool’ looking badged ones.

I also did the side step bars. I like the look and it’ll help my little one learning to get into the vehicle. Essential? No. But I like em.

If you want a garage door opener button, get the mirror. There are more cost effective options, but just pay for it and be done with it.

if you’re going to want all weather floor mats in the future, don’t worry about paying for the carpeted ones, however if you want the ‘clean’ looking carpet, go for it.

Wheel locks - SOMETIMES lowers insurance premiums. It does for dealerships which is why you see certain dealers already have those combos on their window stickers. To me, I’m not so worried about having my wheels stolen, so I don’t think it’s necessary.

cargo net you can always get down the road. Figure out how you’re going to use your ride after you get it before you decide to buy it and then not use it.

mud guard / front skid plate - are you going to off-road?

The seat-back protector is just a carpeted additional level of protection. The folding cargo tray, I think their are better options out there.

fog lights - you’re already getting this with your SX

Tow (hitch) - do you have another vehicle that you can tow with? If not, It’s not that costly and having the dealer add it may be a good option. I have a truck and so didn’t consider this with my telly but I’d recommend it from a practicality stand point if you don’t have anything else.

It's Everlasting SILVER people!

I figured you’d chime in on this.
but there’s no harm in those confused individuals thinking they want the better GRAVITY gray color. 😉

Psshhhhhhhhhh. Somebody has to set these newbies straight. Gravity Gray was my second choice, I dig it.

Also, to the OP im pretty sure the mirror is standard on SX, and SX also gets upgraded stainless steel (not illuminated door sills) already. I went without those since they were already upgraded in a way. Coming from an avid offroader with a Wrangler, despite what Kia likes to show, these are not offroad vehicles. Dirt trails, sure, but if you do rocks the skid plate isn't gonna save your vehicle, at all. It's gonna get trashed unless you lift it. There is a member here who documented his damage when trying to play Wrangler.

Thanks to numerous test drives, learning more than the salespeople on this site and seeing pictures everyone posted I'm ready to place an order for a 2021 SX-P AWD Everlasting Gray, Nightfall edition with Nappa Dune seats and Towing package.

Be wary that if you get the side steps on the Nightfall, you’re going to have some big bright things at the bottom of your completely blacked-out Telluride.

Good point, I passed for that reason. They should have a blacked-out nightfall edition side steps. Hell for the Nightfall charge, they should have came with them.

The mirror on the SX has auto dimming and has the Homelink buttons, but does not have an integrated compass like the accessory does. But I don’t think a compass is worth $350. You have at least three other ways to see a compass (even more if you consider maps) if you really think you need one.

Thank you thank you!!! Your comments have really helped me with these options.

Gravity Grey was first choice until I saw the Silver Nightfall someone posted this week. This will be the 4th Kia in the family. 1 Gravity Gray and 2 White so it took me a while to make this decision.

Side steps were the only option I thought was a certainty but didn’t know they weren’t black so that’s out now. I upgraded mirror on Forte but knowing the SX has the upgraded mirror I’m all set. I dont need a compass. I typically keep my vehicles stock so don’t expect any modifications but those badges look cool. Maybe I’ll do those.

This is replacing my 2008 Expedition EL so it will tow but not as much weight as I used to tow. Downsizing as most of the kids driving... all Kias.

I’m pretty psyched for this vehicle. As an 8 time ford guy I waited for the Bronco reveal before committing to Telluride. I don’t plan on off-roading so jeeps and broncos are now in my past unless my last kid convinces me to get her a Jeep 😂😂😂

I think the cargo cover is a must. My fiancee has a Subaru Crosstrek and she uses the cover all the time. The Telluride has the under storage option in the trunk, but I'm not sure it can fit everything you might want to cover in the trunk

It's Everlasting SILVER people! Welcome to the Everlasting SILVER club 🍻

FIXED!

Spent a lot of time looking at each of the add-on items and selected these three. I might consider an aftermarket illumination kit for inside but not going to get the oem after reading what other said on this forum. I wasn't sure about the scuff plates but my wife says I should get them so I'll abide.

Mud Guard Kit+$115
Cargo Cover+$155
Illuminated Scuff Plates+$310

Sweet baby Jesus brought my thread back! Thank you 🙏

ordered today but the illuminated scuff plates were not available 😷 So my final add-ons were carpeted mats, cargo cover and mud flaps.

Now I wait and get my ford ready to sell or store it.

Not available from the factory or not even available from the Dealer to install?

Factory is what I understood but it was the option I wanted least so it wasn’t really a loss. I didn’t think to ask about them installing.

Oh ok, because I have read that options from the factory are limited but the dealerships can still order the parts and install themselves. Save that money, you will still get nice door sills.

I didn’t ask and they didn’t offer.

I am more interested in maybe adding my own mood lighting inside and changing badges. Honestly I’ll likely make no changes and keep it stock which is seriously sweet just like that.

Thanks, I read this earlier on my phone which is hard for me. Yea, I was wishy washy on the lit door sills thinking about water shorting out the wiring but idk. Like you said, I can always install them later. Also, if I have to resort to a life of crime in the future it would be nice to have a stealth vehicle with no illumination. Dang I should have ordered the Moss!
