• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Plastidip

Wrap on the grill looks great. I may re-do, since this was my first effort, and I end up with several creases that I had tired of trying to fix, though the black grill and letters look great. C0A23443-612E-4166-904D-623FEF697251.webp

The more coats you spray on the easier it is to peel from the paint and spaces between the letters. I did 7 coats on my wife's Porsche badge and it came out great.

How long between coats? 10-15 mins or so?

I waited 15 mins between coats, though I had a lot of air flow and low humidity when I did it. I think that likely helped the drying time. I had no problems with it peeling off easily.

Anyone do the chrome/satin trim on top/bottom of grill yet or just the lettering?

wondering the same

Actually Shakodag did it above (yesterday) just not with a blacked out emblem. Honestly not sure if I like it or not, maybe on a black car it would be different.

Looks awesome! Doing this to mine when it comes in. Be sure to update us on how it holds up

I'm debating it on mine when it arrives. Mine is white so I'm definitely doing the Telluride text and I'm considering the entire grill and surrounds. Just not sure if doing the grill will take away from the honeycomb appearance as it may just look like a blacked out opening.

I have the same feeling about the grill as you. I love the look of the grill. I feel like if I black it out then from a distance it will just look like an opening. I'm sure it will look amazing up close but from afar it may look generic. PlastiDip of the lettering and new badges seem like a no-brainer though

Awesome. How did you keep the middle of the grill from getting sprayed?

I think I need to do this for my ebony SX. At least the front grill, front lower bumper and back lower bumper. But at that point might as well do the window trim as well. I've done plasti dip on trim before but it wears off too easily from rocks, etc. Might have it professionally wrapped for a couple hundred and get a warranty with it. This with the black carbon k emblem would be sweet.

Did you ever re-do the grill to get the wrinkles out?

Also, how did you tuck the edges? Did you use knifeless tape or just cut it with a blade and manually tuck the vinyl? Thanks

I think he used 3M tape on the grill and use Plasti dip on the lettering. At least that's what I understood
Will have to try this because I did plastidip and then car wash and it just peeled off. I called them and they told me that once you dip, you cannot use car washes anymore...not possible for me!
