• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... So I had an awful experience at my local kia dealership yesterday. Trying to sell me an S trim FWD with 500+ miles on it for 40k. Anyway one thing he said was that Kia is getting smart and he "heard through the grapevine that Kia was raising their price on the base model to 38 or 39k." because the Sorento is more expensive than the Telluride. He also told me it would take 6-9 months to get one ordered if I wanted to get it for MSRP anywhere in the country *eye roll*

Cannot be true, that would be big reputation loss for Kia. These dealers will say anything to sell their cars at overprice. Grapevine LOL !!!!

That would cause havoc in both with regulators, trade groups, and supply changes. I think you need to report this dealer as a bad one and find another.

I would not be surprised if KIA did raise the prices.

Kia IS raising prices. I was told this directly by corporate. When? We don’t know. Probably not this year, but the following you can expect a price raise.
It’s also simple marketing too. Put not only a competitive product on the market, but get it out there to far reaching corners.
Once you position the product, get luxury lines to view it as a challenger, raise the price.
Nobody can say the Telluride is overly priced, because it simply isn’t. In fact, it is extremely under priced and will continue. To be even if they raise the price $2,000.
That being said, want one for MSRP? I’ll gladly sell you one for that.
THAT part was the salesman trying to pressure you.

Mfg pricing will follow the demand and economy/interest rates where cars are sold. New, hot cars don't see a lot of discount until sales drop. Across the US industry, sales are down the lowest in history (Sales off to weakest start in 5 years). As inventory and demand settle out, the amount of markups by dealers will go down the longer cars sit on their lot. The key to getting a great deal on a new car is.....patience.

I predict downturn! Yes, car is hot now, but that will pass. KIA is competition to Cx9, Atlas. Pilot, Ascent etc. not luxury brands. Economy is due for a shake up, gas prices are high, they will be happy to sell fair amount, and not aim to raise prices to get BMW Merc Lexus customers, those people will always have money even with economy down..

Do you know if this price increase will be coupled with any added features? Maybe the addition of a fully-digital instrument cluster and power third-row seats (like Palisade) or mood lighting on lower trims (like originally advertised)? I agree that the Telluride is relatively underpriced given the prices of its competition, but a blatant increase in price (if it's large enough - $2,000+) without any added benefit/incentive to they buyer may not sit well with some potential customers. I know the second model year of the Stinger increased in price for the US, but with this price increase Kia added features like heated rear seats and surround-view monitor. Thanks for your insight on this forum!

The only inclination for change I’ve been told, is they are reconsidering their availability on 7 passenger for the EX. They’re considering, quite seriously from what I understand, adding optional 7 or 8 passenger for S through SX.
Of course everything speculation right now, only about 9 weeks into the release.

Well I didn’t want to mention this until it becomes more official... but yes to all the people who are following me on here... I have also heard price increase is coming.. I heard it is for this year.. we shall see..

If they do, I really hope they are smart enough to honor existing orders. Because they would lose me as a customer indefinitely for changing the price after I ordered a product.

Ya I think all order units will be fine. I would hope common sense is used that numbers were agreed upon when ordering units.

Personally for my clients and I have a few on here there is no way in hell I would increase the price on thier order unit.

That’s horrible business.

But for a car ordered for leasing would you recalculate monthly charges if there are changes to incentives, residual value or money factor after the order was placed?

Before we get to far ahead of ourselves.. we don’t internally know when the increase is coming.. so let’s wait and see. My order units we have agreed on price and if trade in is involved we have agreed on trade in value when ordering T-Ride.

Incentives change month to month so that is disclosed as a variable. You can not guarantee rebates, lease cash, money factors will be the same. So whatever they are when vehicle arrives will be disclosed and honored.

If price increases I will simply discount car to the agreed upon sales price.. If the scenario is a lease then agreed price will be the cap cost.

Also I can only speak for myself. I can not say anyone else will do this.. although I would hope everyone who ordered a car is working with a dealer that will honor initial agreed upon price

does anyone know where I can buy seat covers to protect my grey leather?

I can't help you there. Why, may I ask, would you order leather if you are just going to cover it up? Do you have pets that walk on the seats?

Hey @StephenCantrelle, I was told by my dealer that I should expect my SX Prestige AWD Moss/Dune soon in this week, can you please check that for me if it’s routed to columbus (Lancaster Matt Taylor Ohio)? Thanks.

Nice, great color combo. For frame of reference, what date did you place your order?
