• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Sorry for the long title folks! My 2021 Telluride slammed on the breaks and scared the crap out of us the other day while going to lunch. I saw a wide open parking spot. All the parking was nose in or backup to a tall wooden fence (example below). We were backing up and no where near the fence, but it was sunny and shadowy. Suddenly, light, sounds, breaks! The Telluride stopped on a dime! Nothing there, just the sun casting shadows. Has this ever happened to anyone else?

PS: I know, silly example of fence.

That's not how rear cross traffic assist works. It's based on radar detecting motion coming across the rear (from a pretty good distance, too). Perhaps someone was walking behind your car (or another car next to yours).

Nope, there was no one around and the lot was empty kind of like the photo. I guess it malfunctioned but that’s a bit scary and I’ll have to keep track of that.
