Recently purchased, have some questions

Just purchased by 22 ex today and I'm loving it.

2 things I've run into though.

Is there a way to default disable the auto shut off when stopped? I have found it turns on after 30 seconds on its own anyways which sort of defeats the purpose. It also seems very very quick to turn off (seems like no time at all after I come to a stop). Turning it off each time I start the car is a little annoying.


My other issue Im having is with the 2nd row entertainment screens. Is there a way to default them to off when the car is turned on? I did some night driving today and they are super bright. I also only have adults currently in the 2nd row, so they don't really need it (but it will come in handy when I have kids eventually).

There is no way that I know of to disable the auto shutoff, other than buy and install a device to do so, like this: Autostop Eliminator - Disable The Auto Start Stop Feature

Apparently, other folks have been successful in wedging a small card in the seam between the button to keep it held down permanently, also.

I don't have the 2nd row screens, so can't help you there...

There is a button by the parking brake that lets you turn off the auto stop. You just have to hit that button every time you start the vehicle.

Senator, the original poster knows this....they just want to have it default to disable when the car starts.

The bottom line is that practically no manufacturer offers this on cars that are equipped with auto-stop, because they can then get scored better by the Government in the mileage calculation. If they let the auto-stop be disabled by the user on start, they don't get credit for the extra bit of MPG.
