If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... I had placed an order in late April at a recommended dealership in Natick Massachusetts. They only sell for cost and offer a refundable deposit, and I was willing to wait until October. I finally tracked down my dealer today after avoiding my texts emails and phone calls, and found out the 25-week lead time turned into 9 to 10 months. I am not looking to buy a car right now and take delivery in 2022!

Is this the chip shortage or just a dealer that can’t get allocations for builds?

At this point I’m willing to pay a small premium for shorter delivery time. Recommendations?

Most likely a dealer and location issue. I ordered late March early April and was told 3-4 months. I got an update from my dealer that I was moved from a 21’ to a 22’. I then got another update that my order would be delayed because the exterior light kit was on backorder. I canceled the light kit and the car was delivered within 30 days of that phone call. Total time was 3.5 months and I paid sticker price, and got just about every option you could get minus tow package and the light kit.

It seems some high volume dealers get their orders filled faster and there are threads on this forum giving that info. Figure out how far you are willing to drive, and order one through a high volume dealer not taking deposits. My dealer was mad other dealers take a deposit. He said if I didn’t want the car it will be sold in less than an hour. He didn’t want to lose a potential lifelong customer for $500. He even said this environment won’t last forever, so why ruin the dealers reputation to make a quick buck.

Thanks for the post. Luckily I am in central Mass and can drive in any direction to meet my goal of faster delivery. Please let me know which dealer you used so I can consider. Thanks!
