• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Never really pulled a trailer. I want to get one to be able to pull camping equipment for a family of 7. Eventually I want to get a second one to pull random sofas, do some home depot runs of 8x4 plywood etc.

I would recommend a 5x8 utility trailer with 15” wheels. I pull one behind my Telluride with a removable ramp gate and pressure treated wood flooring. Empty it weighs about 800-900 lbs, the single axle is rated for 3,500 lbs. and the max load is around 2,000 lbs. I also recommend a 2” A frame coupler instead of a single arm for stability. Does everything I would ask of a pickup truck bed. You can probably find something between $750-1,000 in good shape or new.

Thank you, going through the trailer sites, there are so many options I didn't know where to begin.

Not a problem. You should also be aware that trailer tires are different from car tires and likely a max psi rating of 50-70 psi. Always remember to keep the tires fully inflated close to the max. Some people underinflate in an attempt to reduce bounce but once you add load you could cause a flat. It’s not fun getting a flat on a single axle with only two tires.

Remember to never exceed your max weight limit.

GVWR is 5,736 assuming sx.
Curb weight is 4,482
Which means max weight is 1,254.

Lets say you are average. 190lb for males, 170 for females. And you said you have a family of 7.

That means you should have no more then 900lbs for 5 children and stuff.

Lets say that your children are 500lbs, they you are now limited to 400lbs of stuff.

You are limited to 350lb, until other notified for the trailer hitch, so 50lbs for stuff in the cab.

Please do not exceed this weight limit. It is very easy and completely unsafe.
