• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... My wife has a 2001 Telluride SX & she usually has the dealer swap the wiper blades. At the risk of having my man card revoked, I need some help on how to remove the OEM windshield wiper blades!
I've changed many blades on our other cars so I figured I could do this in a jiffy as usual.

For the life of me I cannot figure out how to get these OEM blades off. When I open the lock cover I don't see any tabs to release the blades as noted in the video below. I've tried to forcibly pull down on the blade to no avail.

I'll add some pics - PLMK if anyone can point out if I'm missing the release tab(s) or if I just need to grow a pair and just yank the blades off that would be much appreciated.

Thanks, I've tried that but it won't budge. I'm afraid of using excessive force that may result in me damaging the arm. Perhaps I should just break the plastic parts around the J-hook?
It does take a little force to slide off the J hook, but nothing that seemed out of the ordinary. I swapped mine out a couple of weeks ago and they popped right off. I do wear gloves to protect my hands while doing it.

I changed mine and I remember using a flathead screwdriver to adjust the clip and then pulled back and the wiper slipped down the arm to remove.

I didn’t seem to have any issues replacing them.

This video might be of assistance

Thanks, I was able to remove the OEM blades quite easily today. I found it easier to do what is noted in the attached picture.
I think the Rain-x blades I installed will be much easier to remove next time!
