• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... So, I spilled coffee behind the touchscreen, and now it's dead. New replacement would be over $7,000. So, I'm going to take my chances on a used unit on eBay. The questions, is: Should I buy both the receiver and touchscreen (each about $1,000), or is one of them more likely to be bad than the other? (Both stopped working at the same time).

Have you checked junkyards? I think you are more likely to get some kind of warranty there.

I would buy the pieces one at a time, starting with the one that got the most coffee if you have no better criteria for a guess.

OK, thanks. I found both online, as a unit, for a reasonable price, I think I'll just do that.

Please let us know how it goes. That foo paw could happen to anyone.
