If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Do you have sample pics sir how to remove one by one? Thanks

Are you able to see post #51 in this thread? I know it was waiting on moderator approval, but looks like it’s visible now.

Got it sir thank you

Someone on a Telluride Facebook group replaced them and spilled the details on how to do it!

Rather simple... grab the handle on the inside of the hatch while open, and twist it back towards you and should reveal 2 screws.. remove the screws and gently pull the panel back which reveals the location of the bulbs..
Are these lights still working for you?

Finally went and got this done, took about 15 minutes, hardest part for me was gettting that handle apart. after tht it was quick. Did it just like on the video, was easy enough to get the sockets out and in. Will see at night how much of a difference they make. I know they made a big difference on the Sorento and some difference on the Stinger.

There is also a video on YouTube that shows how to do it as well...

TLDR: Removing all panels on the trunk lid was a better solution than just removing one.

I just did the LED replacement on my license plate and reverse lights and this is the best advice. Adds about 2 minutes of prep and saves you a half hour of headaches trying to line everything up if you don’t pull the sides off and remove the panel completely. Thanks for the walk-through and photos!

Somebody, for the love of god, tell me how to change out the directional bulbs in the bumper assembly of the lower end models! I have a basic S model. Request number 8 regarding this!

I second this (assuming the directional bulbs OP talking about are the turn signals) I have an LX and i also need this. On top of that, can somebody also please put up a video or something on how to replace the tail lights as well. All my lights on the front have been upgraded to LEDs (headlights both high and low, and the turn signals as well).

Finally got around to replacing the reverse lights with LEDs and it was much easier than I feared. First, I tried that method the BMW guy did in the video and it only works if you leave the top most plastic clips in. It worked fine for replacing the bulbs but for putting the plastic interior trim back I don’t advise it as you could easily break a couple clips. Within a few more minutes and four more screws I was able to take off the remaining interior trim pieces like others on this thread did. One caution, the screws are slightly different sizes so keep track when you remove them.

These are the bulbs I bought: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B07NJ69MHQ?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_image

I purchased the auxito bulbs and very happy with the light output and color. Matches the rest of the other LEDs on the SX very well. I followed procedure from BMW guy (Lee) and it was a pain to get enough room to get the bulbs attached and the panel lined back up but it eventually worked out for me. Would have been good to see post #51 though beforehand as an alternative and I might have done it that way....

installed Sylvania LED bulbs in my reverse lights. Wasn’t hard but not easy. KIA should add access panels to get to the bulbs.

I agree post 51 is the better way to go. I went with the BMW guy‘s method. Not the easiest to twist the bulb sockets out or back into place.

How much of a difference in visibility do you think this ended up being (Halogen before, LED after)? Has it improved camera clarity, visibility, etc.?

I know it's been a few months since a lot of these posts...how's everyone's LEDs? Any issues from Amazon links or Sylvania/Autozone?

I feel like I can safely back out of my driveway in the pitch dark using the backup camera now whereas before I had a tough time seeing the edge of the driveway.

In terms of distance, I doubt it is throwing light any further with LED bulbs. But when you get closer to an object it is definitely lit more brightly.

It was more of a cosmetic upgrade for me rather than having the yellowish halogen bulbs in the reverse and plate lights. LEDs match better with the headlights and interior lights now for the SXP.

Appreciate the clarity. Probably gonna do both reverse LEDs and License Plate LEDs. The reverse LEDs got me a little scared, but after reading through different methods, I think it shouldn't be that bad.

Just replaced them 2 weeks ago despite similar fears. Definitely less difficult than it looks, especially if you take off the side covers too.

LED vs Halo photo for comparison

Did both License Plate and Reverse LEDs yesterday. Only hiccup was trying to get the top panels off for the reverse LEDs. It took me a while even with the trim removal kit, and I think I clipped off a small plastic bracket on each side. You can't tell after I snapped it back, but it scared me at first.

Thanks all. Definitely made a difference and I love the white look.

We have a rather long driveway that does a weird (about) 30 degree bend to the right for the last 8 feet, then there is a ditch on both sides right at the exit. I found the stock reverse lights almost useless for seeing where I am in relation to the edges on the driveway. I end up tapping the breaks because I can see better with break lights, even though they are red.
This is one mod I will definitely be doing. Glad I found this thread!

I replaced the reverse lights but one of the blue clips did not want to fit in the hole properly and it broke. Now the one side is not fully flush with the frame. Made an appointment at Kia to look at it. Hopefully they will just fix it without asking questions.

anyone else have trouble with clips after changing the bulbs?
