Time for Corning glass to make their Gorilla Glass windshield for Tellurides.

Enough with the inferior quality of the KIA windshield glass.

What evidence do you have that Kia glass is inferior?

I was on the highway a couple days ago and a rock got thrown up at my windshield and hit pretty hard... not even a chip. I was surprised because of all the horror stories I've been hearing about windshields, but so far, so good.

22 complaints, out of 35 with the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration on the Telluride are for front windshields.

Looking at other vehicles out for 9 months, you wont find that kind of failure rate. Should be a more resilient material.

the replacement glass looks great(NEW). Price for glass and labor was $800. I'm just hoping to drive another 2k without anymore glass issues.

I had the first one replaced by/at Kia dealership. I have since had yet another hit with a circle impact and no fissures. Its my understanding Kia is paying for replacement windshields, they r under investigation by govtmt because the # of issues is exceptionally high with this new type of windshield. By all means ck with ur dealer b4 u pay for the replacement.

Oh, and there's no way I'd have Safelite touch my vehicle!!!! At least those in my area, Dallas,Tx.

Less than a month after getting my new Telluride, I got hit with a rock spit up that couldn't have hit any more perfectly wrong. Within 5 mins it was a 3"crack, by the time I got home it was 1/2 way across. It's now 3/4. The dealership where I bought it says there are no windshields available, everyone that's been produced is accounted for and being used in production. Question (1) is this truly the case and does anyone know how long this will last? (2) does anyone know where I might be able to obtain one. With the weather turning cold it's going to finish off 100% across in no time!! Its also right at eye level and the flashes of light it produces when the sun hits it just right is blinding for split seconds. Thank u for ur insight and comments!! I do love it!! My only wish, it had a bit more umph at take off, i know it's a lot of car for a v6...

Not sure what is up with the windshields. I am fixing to replace mine for the second time. Got a chip the first time within a week, cracked overnight to about the same as yours. Kia replaced it, said there was a recall. Another chip maybe 3 months later, caught it in time to get it stopped. Two weeks ago another, this time upper left, started cracking within a day, too big to repair, will be replacing again. Not happy. I have just had it a year. Other than that I LOVE my car!!!

The "goodwill" letter some owners recieved, if the windshield cracked, but no actual recall.

There is a pending class action in California US District court.

"The class action alleges a Telluride windshield recall was skipped by the automaker in favor of a “goodwill gesture” that would replace the Kia windshields. But the lawsuit alleges the offer wasn't made to all affected 2020 Telluride owners and lessees, including the plaintiff who filed the class action.

The windshields allegedly crack, chip and fracture due to design and/or manufacturing defects that existed since the Tellurides went on sale."
