• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Hello!

So I know the rear suspension clunk has been talked about many times here. Mine had it with the rear auto leveling shocks. After many months of the parts on back order, I got them replaced! It was quite again, for a few months…
The noise is back and driving me insane.
It is to the point I’ve considered trading the vehicle off. I am thinking about replacing the shocks and springs for an aftermarket set. Maybe even with a higher ride height to put some all terrain tires on. Has anyone done that? I’ve put lift kits on my jeeps and Lexus GX, but don’t see much for these other than the spacers, which I don’t want. Or any other ideas on how to fully get rid of the rear suspension clunk?
Thanks!
Courtney

I had my dealer replace the self leveling shocks with standard shocks over 3 years ago. You also need to replace the springs and spring seats with the standard ones when you do this conversion. The springs for the self leveling shocks are different, which allow the the movement of the body. The standard springs are needed with standard shocks because they help maintain consistent ride hight. Keep in mind this is something that most Kia dealers will not do because Kia will not copensate the dealer for this work since it's effectively a modification. You'll need to work it out with your dealer. Read this thread for more info Bad Shock on a 2020 SX with factory towing package.
