• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Hello Fellow Owners- I am looking into roof racks for my 2021. What are your thought on the OEM KIA Racks vs... say the Thule? Does anyone recommend one or any others? Any issues with the OEM or other?

I personally am not a big fan of the OEM curved style, but prefer the flat look like the Thule brand, so considering those. Any other brand you recommend?

Hi Brian. It really depends on how you will be using them. If you do a search on roof racks (and/or crossbars), in this forum, you will see several posts on this subject.

Personally, I went with the OEM’s because I like to car camp, and the OEM’s give me plenty of clearance when using a solar screen during hot weather camping. And, that was the only reason. I used the same technique with my previous vehicle (Honda Pilot). So, carried over the idea. They are easily removable. And, when at home, I store them in my garage.

I went with Rhino-Rack after unsuccessfully looking for the Thule fit kit. Not a single store got one in stock.

I went with the Aeroblade Edge from Thule, entirely because of the looks. I'm not a huge fan of the flat bar that sticks out past the mounting point, and the Aeroblade integrates it nicely into the mount. That being said, Amati5's setup above looks good! The ones I see driving around stick out 4-5" from the mount and look kind of silly. As far as buying it, that is a bit of a struggle. Thule (or maybe it was REI, I forget...) actually directed me to buy the fit kit on Amazon. It's kit 4113, but it says it's currently unavailable.

If you do get your hands on it, be careful when selecting your mounting point for the forward one. It needs to be in just the right spot, or the sunroof can hit it when it opens. Mine is setup to be about as far back as possible with about 5mm of clearance. The further back you mount it, the less you hear any wind noise from it.

What model year is your Telluride? When I spec out my '22 on Thule's site, it says the WingBars have replaced the AeroBlade's. I agree with you, I like how the AeroBlade's don't stick out past the feet, but not sure if they're compatible with my 22. If they are, I may start scouring ebay and other places for them.

It's a '21, but they are identical in almost every way (aside from the badge) I would think. Poking around on their website, I agree it doesn't show it as compatible. You can go to the product page and still order them though. It may just be that Thule takes awhile to update their site's compatibility search and the 22 just isn't in there yet?

Update: I went back through my emails, and I did order them from REI. It's the L size, and it looks like they have it in stock. The fit kit is the hard part to find...

I have Thule racks and am very happy with them. They are quiet and no issues with opening sun roof. But, boy, they weren’t cheap!

I am looking for roof racks for my 2021 Telluride and saw these ones on Amazon. They say they will fit the vehicle. Does anyone have experience with them and what are your thoughts on them good or bad?
Have not had experience with them, but I do like those as they look much similar to the Thule ones.

I got my roof racks in black from Amazon (link in my earlier post). They look good, they do have some wind noise but I don’t think you can avoid that with any brand. They weren’t hard to put together and they seem very sturdy. Cost me $280 CDN. Good clearance with the sunroof open. My only complaint would be that the instructions could be better. Not hard to figure out though.

The real test for clearance of the sunroof is when having attachments to the bars. From the pics, hard to tell but it looks very close.
