• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Running Board Removal?

There might be someone on the forums that would trade you the rocker panels for the running boards. I'd entertain it if you were in Houston which it doesn't appear to be the case.
Are you still interested in a switch? I'm not in Houston but willing to travel for a trade. I have the bronze running boards but would like rocker panels.

I am not, but don’t mind the travel for the switch. Interested?

The bronze running boards? What do they look like and where are you located?

I took this screenshot from a previous post but mine are the same. These are the ones you were wanting, correct? I’m in Oklahoma.

yeah. They look like the OEM one. I guess in my eyes they look more silver aluminum?

Ju

Just saw someone called them bronzed. They are what came on the Kia when purchased z
I'd be interested but I've never installed running boards before. I'd hate for you to travel and we couldn't figure it out in a timely manner. Having someone local gives us both time to figure things out.

Update - found the panels and need to do the swap, finally getting around to it. Anyone that has done this or knows how is it something ridiculously easy that anyone can do or should I just hire a mobile body shop person? I saw on the manual its 10 screws on each side, but wasn't sure it was as simple as just unscrewing them and pulling off. Can't find any good video online so scared to attempt lol.

What do the panels look like and how much did you pay for them?

just long black plastic piece w clips, found someone online who was selling them after boards were put on...
I'm trying to find someone in Houston that wants to do a swap for my panels for their running boards but it seems everyone with the boards want extra cash when in fact the rockers cost more than the boards. I figured even swap would be the right thing.

Prob because they are included vs. being a $700 add on, and not a huge demand for them vs boards...some people were able to keep them in addition to the boards so cost them nothing. Don't think many/any people pay the kia price which is nuts considering they are just light pieces of plastic lol.

My running boards have been on backorder since July. After reading these comments, I'm questioning wether or not I should add them.
Especially since I have the Copper Black, SX NightFall and I don't think the brushed silver/black side steps would look right. Should I cancel the order while I still have the chance?

It's really just personal preference. People who see ours tend to prefer them on, we think boards look cool/custom overall but im really short and they sort of bother me (anyone average or taller height would be fine.) If we wanted them long term would likely swap to black ones. It doesnt look like you have any chrome at all, if that's the case yes they will stand out a little. Personally we didn't like that look but again many people who see it said oh keep them on lol. This is ours currently.

i would definitely cancel your order. I agree with you. I don’t think the silver/black side rails would look as nice as the all black Telluride Nightfall ones. I’d place an order with 401dixiekia.com if I was you. I did. They came within a week. Completely satisfied with the transaction. Easy installation, no cutting or drilling. Look great on my WG SX Prestige.

Thanks for the site. How much did those Canadian ones run you? The dealer I originally purchased the Telly from was charging $900 w/ installation.

What do you think about just getting them powder coated black?

The Canadian side rails cost me $770 delivered to western Wisconsin. Of course shipping charges will vary depending on where you live. You can save on installation by doing it yourself. Directions are easy to follow. They say you need to jack the car up. That’s not necessary. I had no problem without using a jack. I have no idea about powder coating. Good luck.

Do you think a regular non car person would be able to remove the oem ones and get the panels back on? I'm getting insane quotes for this and it seems like it wouldn't be too hard (but really don't want to mess anything up lol)

I’m a non car person, and I didn’t remove any panels to put on the side rails, so I can’t speak to the difficulty of putting the panels back on. Sorry! Hopefully someone else can help you with that. 😊
