• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Looking to buy a Telluride in the upcoming months. Torn between the S or EX. Upgrades that would be nice between the 2 are the bigger screen, ventilated seats, wireless charger and the power liftgate. Not sure if it is really worth the money? Would prefer 2nd row bench over captains chairs. Could anyone tell me if there is any difference in the ride between the 18" and 20" wheels? Is it that noticeable of a difference between the 8" and 10" screen? What about the highway driving assist?

If you prefer the bench, then get the EX. No question... real leather, and bigger screen are very nice. Also, acoustic glass upgrade on EX (quieter cabin), and you'll have a smoother ride with the 18" wheels vs 20". The bench slides forward with plenty of room to get in back. Nice easy operation.

Of course, if you really wanted captains chairs but didn't want SX trim, then the S is a fine option too. I think price difference is about 3k between S and EX (MSRP difference) and the upgrades are worth it in my opinion.

I chose EX for all the upgraded items you listed in addition to the real leather seats. I definitely wanted the bench over captain 2nd row and the larger infotainment screen is amazing. Depending on the climate where you are, the vented seats can be a life changer as well. Other posts here discuss the 18 vs 20 wheels, and it seems the consensus is the 18 are more practical, but the 20s look cool.

For the sake of being inclusive here are all of the upgrades that come on the EX (save for the smaller rims).

Sound absorbing front window glass
18” vs 20” rims
10” screen
Driver talk
Quite mode
HDA
Wireless charger
Extra USB
Power lift gate
Leather seats instead of synthetic
Tri-zone auto A/C vs no auto A/C
Auto-dimming rearview mirror
Integrated 2nd row sunshades
10 way driver and 8 way passenger power seat adjustments vs manual passenger
Heated and cooled front seats
Wood grain accents
Retractable cover for center storage bin/wireless charger

The bigger screen, wood trim and different dash layout is cleaner and gives the interior a huge wow factor on the EX. The leather seats have a better pattern and are super comfortable. Power lift gate is cool but not like opening a shock assisted lift gate is hard-unless your arms are made of uncooked spaghetti. There is always a difference in ride quality when going up in wheel size since the sidewall will be smaller and thus harder and more rigid to compensate, but the 20’s look better.

For me I think the interior differences with the seats and dash layout/screen were the selling point. I also like the EX wheel design better I just wish they were bigger.

I have the ex because of many of those listed upgrades. I hate the ugly buttons of the lower class Infotament system. The ex definitely has that upgraded look , nice larger screen , real leather , and many more other options. Ventalied/hearted seats is something I’ve never had and really enjoy it on hot and cold days. I wouldn’t consider any other model lower than the EX. My EX AWD lease with 15k miles including tax is $499. Not too bad for a nice big suv

How did you get a lease with 15K miles? All the ones I've seen are 12k. I do more than that just going to work and back.

Just ask - mileage is usually negotiable. They may use a slightly lower residual.

As a lot of folks with an EX posted, I’ll post since I have a S. The interior upgrades on the EX are meaningful. That is what I test drove. And if you want the bench seats, it’s the way to go. For me, captains chairs were my number one need so I went with the S. Also, the ride on the S wheels is very smooth. I love the purchase and don’t think you would go wrong with either. I don’t think the price difference warrants settling for what you don’t want, so if you like the interior upgrades on the EX, go for it since you prefer bench.

I'd have to say I don't think the bigger screen is really useful. What is nice is the leather, ventilated seats, power lift gate and most importantly the climate control! Wife and I have to have separate temps to keep our marriage haha

You can write a lease for pretty much any mileage and term you want. This is how many commercial vehicles are sold.

If I’m not mistaken I think you forgot some exterior upgrades. LED lights in the back, Moonroof and luggage rack rails on the EX.

You’re correct about the LED brake lights but the moonroof and roof rails come in the S as well.
