• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Seat Cleaning SX

I’ve always used chemical guys leather cleaner and conditioner. Thinking about picking up the CarPro or Gyeon leather coating though. Stuff looks amazing! But pricey😳

Baby wipes. ;)

I use chemical guys (the cleaner + conditioner) or lexol cleaner.

One thing to mention, all car leathers are "coated" leathers. Meaning, basically any good PH Cleaner will do a great job. You are cleaning the "coating" not the leather.

For testing purposes: if you have a leather jacket or something you are planning to through out, dap a bit of water on it, "rub" it in and you will see that where you applied the water on will get darker very quickly. This will never happen with "coated" leathers, all car leather seats are coated (at least all new generation vehicles), you are basically cleaning the "coating"/"clear coat" applied by the manufacturer. You need to use a correct pH non abrasive cleaner and you will be fine.

Hi All I purchased an EX Gravity Gray three weeks ago. Wish I read the recommendations here before I did something wrong...I used Meguiars leather balm and got a lot of it stuck in the ventilated seats. I used a tooth brush to try to get it out but there are still remnants of the paste. Anyone witb ideas how to get it out with badly scratching the seats?

They make brushes specifically for leather. I use colourlock brushes but they’re a dime a dozen. Probably your best bet. Have you tried vacuuming it out yet?

I'm going to try your suggestion with colourlock. I have a 5 hp wet vac in my shed. Never had ventilated seats before, live and learn. Thanks for the good advice!

Anyone have some recommendations as to the best way to keep the seats clean and in good shape?
I am thinking of picking up some of these: <Weiman Leather Cleaner Wipes>

Thoughts?

Those are more for sofas and chairs in your house. Adams, Griotts garage, and Lexie are respected brands. I have some Blue Magic Cleaner and their conditioner which was able to reliably get sunscreen off my black leather in the EX-which is a big deal if you’ve ever needed to get it off a seat before.

I'm using Meguiars but also bought some Chemical Guys off amazon. Sounds strange but the best smelling leather cleaner I have is Surf City Garage Voodoo blend.

Didn't use this kind of chemical yet. But if it is good and safe enough I will give a try for it.

Did it really get off sunscreen? How do you apply it? We got that problem - just came back from the beach and seats look all milky.

Which product is good for sofino leatherette seats in a S trim? The manual says soap and water with a damp cloth, but just checking

@TellyNY & @Schmitty88 et al, as noted in another thread or few, the best i've come across after trying many over many years is SmartLeather.
UV, great smell, easy application & safe (& effective) for most surfaces it may come into contact with - plastics etc.

have had no issues with the ventilated perforations too.

For quick and easy cleans I use Meguiars Gold class leather wipes. But if I have the time I use a chemical guy's nonsense APC diluted 20:1 and Meguiar's Hyperdressing diluted 1:3.
