If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Hey Everyone!
I got my actual shipping cost today and noticed that there hasn't been a specific thread regarding this so if you had your Telly shipped to you please let us know how much you paid and from what location to location as well as including any other details like insurance included or not.

Mine is being shipped from Peak Kia North in Windsor, CO to San Pedro, CA (Los Angeles Area) for $650 and includes insurance. (1,086 miles)
I was initially quoted around $1000 so glad to find out it is a lot cheaper.

Which shipper?
I did find some other quotes and they were all along that price. Some were cheaper but I’d rather go with the dealers so if anything goes wrong its on them

Thanks @Mavrx for starting this thread. I’ve been curious as well. I have several early quotes between $620-750 from Muncie to Atl (554 miles).

Post the mileage too - my understanding was it’s around $1/mile for open trailer

Also, do you guys plan on tipping the driver?

1086 miles so I dont think so. Updated my original post with mileage as well.

I didnt know thats something we do.
So, 1st time shipping a $50k car here. I’m no expert but in my research I guess it’s common? These guys are picking up your car as an independent contractor and making sure it gets to your place safe. That’s what you’re paying for but think of it like ubereats or DoorDash I guess?

How did we ever manage before google? 😝 Thanks for sharing!

First time here as well. Having an unknown driver picking up my $50K car is not a comfortable feeling. I know it’s insured and some brokers do offer additional coverage but still. Maybe paying a little extra to have the dealer handle it is the way to go?!

Was your original quote via the dealer? What was different the 2nd time? It went from $1K to $650. What is also interesting is your mileage is more than mine but it is cheaper!?

I have early quotes from montway & shipacardirect so far. The dealer quoted me 950.

The dealers just farming it out to a carrier.

The $1k was just an estimate the dealer gave me before actually contacting a carrier. The $650 is the actual price that I will pay, I believe. I'll let you know once it's all finalized

Hello!

I live in the San Pedro area too! We just bought our Kia Telluride yesterday 10/11 at Kia Downtown Los Angeles for MSRP less $500 rebate for financing.

We purchased a 2021 Kia Telluride in EX Trim with Glacial White Pearl & Light Grey Interior. This is the only combination my wife wanted since it had the bench seating and light interior.

I negotiated via chat on and off for a week or two and watched this VIN since it popped up on Failcat on 9/24.

They did not try to upsell me on anything but lured me into financing for the rebate since I was willing to pay all cash.

Good luck to you!

@Mavrx Seems reasonable for the mileage IMO. Good luck and keep us posted. I am going to check in with my dealer again and will do the same.
