• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Sick to my stomach: Paint and windshield issues

🤖 AI Summary

No AI summary has been generated for this thread yet.
Did a 2,600 mile road trip to Montana. We have a 2nd home there and I have done this trip scores of times in other vehicles. Cleaning up our brand new Telluride today and I noticed that there are numerous paint chips all over the front of the vehicle, a handful on the hood and some on the mirrors. The windshield also has many micro chips. The font area with the Telluride lettering has in excess of fifty chips.

Now driving across I-90 in the winter is rough on vehicles. They use sand on the roads and obviously it gets kicked up by the vehicles in front. But sand shouldn't chip a vehicle's paint.

I have never had issues like this with the Chevy trucks and Jeep vehicles we have owned that have made this trip. Sure a rock getting kicked up will chip paint but sand shouldn't.

Very disappointed with the durability of the paint and windshield. Otherwise this is the best highway vehicle we have ever owned.

I'm going to get a paint pen and have our insurance company look at the windshield.

This sucks.
I know that sick to my stomach feeling all too well but, in my case it was a serious spider crack in the windshield from a stone at only 3500 Kilometers Just hoping it doesn’t spread. After reading about all the complaints I’m thinking of contacting KIA. Sorry to hear of your troubles….

Contact Safelite. They might be able to fix it, if it doesn’t “run”. I don’t think Kia will do anything, because it was a rock. But, your auto insurance may have you covered.

I immediately went to an auto glass repair shop who said it was probably too large of a crack to repair completely. They did the repair and we are hoping it will stop it from spreading… for a while at least.

I had a situation like that on my CRV. Rock, a little bit of a spread, and they told me the same thing. Fixed it the best they could. About a year later, it ran. Had to get the windshield replaced. The good news was our insurance policy covered everything with no deductible.

I was just noticing the same on mine. Only 8 months old and no off road driving. I’ll be speaking with the dealer soon to see if there are any solutions
