I just recently ordered my Telluride but I am hoping by the time I get the vehicle, they will have an adapter that works with the Telluride. If not, the power tap is easy enough.Anybody try one of these? Made by Donger Technologies and they come in different pin configurations. Contemplating this for my '21 Calligraphy.

Question on hardwiring... Are you still able to take the unit down? Is it still wired so you can unplug it and move it to another vehicle with the lighter adapter, or is it permanent?

I find my uniden r3 is pretty quiet with the right settings. I've never had a false ka alarm. May as well turn laser off since it it goes off, you're busted.I've always loved having a radar detector hardwired in, but unfortunately, the technology going into new cars has made it so the only viable detectors that don't give constant false alarms are very high end, very expensive units. They need to be able to identify and ignore signals from blind spot systems, adaptive cruise control, and any other signals being fired off every vehicle in traffic. Only the pretty high end units do that, so it'll likely be awhile before I get another detector.
Yeah, The R3 is a nice unit, but even those start around $300. Used to be you could throw a $50 Cobra in a car and it would pickup 90% of what you needed and sure it would false alarm sometimes, but it was tolerable. I know this is an older post but your last line is exactly why I just purchased the Escort ZR5 system with two additional Shifter Max sensors which thankfully is legal in my state. Going to have it professionally installed with three sensors in the front (left and right grill, lower center), one sensor in the rear (above the tag), and pair with an Escort Max 360c for complete coverage.I find my uniden r3 is pretty quiet with the right settings. Hello fellow Telluride owners!
One of the first additions I do to all of my vehicles is a hard wired radar detector. Since I did not see any instructions for this here, I decided to take step by step photos to help everyone else through the process. It's very simple and only takes a few minutes and keeps you from having to run a long power cord from the windshield to the outlet or down the A-pillar and into the fuse panel.
As a side note my Telluride is an SX with the Homelink equipped rear view mirror. So I cannot comment whether the mirror wiring will be exactly the same for LX, EX, or S models.
