It’s literally impossible to get a Vin five days after the order is excepted by Kia in less it was already in the system. The order number will tell you that it’s been excepted by Kia and committed to be built. It will have a ETA but the can change as well as even if you have a vin it can change as well. The dealership can tell you exactly where it is in the process once it has an order number!

Like I said I was lucky. It probably was already being built but unassigned? All I know is my VIN showed up on failcat 5 days after my order with my name on it and that vehicle showed up at my dealership 5 weeks later.

Sorry you would have to set up all shipping and you would have to come into the dealer when the Telluride comes in to sign all paper work.

Depends on the dealer and how many orders are ahead of you. For reference - I was at Kia Mortiz Alliance over the weekend and I heard a salesman tell a customer that they have 117 pending Telluride orders. He mentioned these orders because he was explaining that all 117 had to be transitioned over to a 2022 Telluride order since Kia is no longer taking 2021 Telluride orders.

Most Utah dealers are MSRP for orders and $2-3k for existing inventory.
A few will require a “protection” package, just shy away from those.

Thanks for the reply I’m in West Virginia. Not having much luck in my area. We put a deposit on a black nightfall that’s coming in but would rather have the wolf grey. I never would have imagined that it would be this difficult to buy a vehicle.

I didn’t think the Kia ordering system was open yet nor could they possibly build one that quickly. Seems odd to me. I’ll keep you guys posted on what happens. I bet that this is a 2021 that was in the pipeline and already built. Who knows.

I don’t want to come across rude as messages are sometimes hard to read. But we have like 5 threads going right now about the 2022’s showing that Kia opened back ordering and they already have hundreds on 2022’s built and headed to dealers.

so good news it looks like your dealer is correct and you will be getting one of the very first 2022’s to your area.
