• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... I've been talking with a dealer in Indianapolis and was told they HAVE to charge, on top of MSRP, $695 for a door-edge guard & pulse 3rd brake light and $249 for window tint to each new model on the lot. Does this seem right?

That's effectively $1050 in add ons that are pure profit (windows come tinted from factory) and the door edge guards and brake light are cheap adds if you did them yourself. There is another thread on add-ons of similar nature.

Your choice on whether you want to accept them - and what conditions. I agreed to a $300 tint charge but I requested that they tint entire vehicle (effectively darkening rear windows as they tinted over the factory tint). But, dealer wouldn't budge on that charge and I wasn't going to walk over $300. You can always tell the dealer no thanks and walk.

I turned down a dealer that had the car we wanted because they added a “pinstripe” and something else now I can’t remember and would charge us for it. No way.

Yea i thought it sounded fishy. I know I could get a tint job for a lot cheaper but I figured the 1st thing would need to be something that would either be included in the total price or you can decide not to do it all.

I believe these are called “Addendum Dealers” because they add an addendum to the sticker. Basically my first question when calling a dealership is “are you an addendum dealer?” If yes, I say goodbye. I personally refuse to do business with them. We have several big ones in our area.
