• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... I have an AWD SX-P. I've kept my own data for the past 12 fill-ups. In mixed highway and city driving, I've averaged 22.99 mpg.

I just completed a 443 mile road trip with an average MPG of 23.2.

I was very impressed as I have a heavy foot and my previous vehicle only received 19 MPG on a good day.

Y'all have me curious. I would like to optimize my mpg from day 1 (starting in 2 weeks). One person asked if you are using 87 octane. A few mentioned using Top Teir gas. I know there are differing views on the role octane levels effect mpg. But no one mentioned the statistics of MPG from Kia are based on 91 octane gas. Or if anyone is regularly using fuel additives.

Is everyone sticking to Top Tier Brands or regularly using fuel additives?

Only using 87 octane or anyone using higher octane?

I've been getting average of 26 (computer says, but hand calculations yield 24-25). I drive a combination of highway and city, but because we live 30 miles from town, I'd say at least half is highway. I drive like a little old lady in ECO mode most of the time.

FWIW, I use Costco Regular (86 octane) which is Top Tier gas most of the time. About every third tank I'll put in their Premium (92 O).

Hi Christi, I took delivery of my Telly the beginning of Nov. 2020 , I keep it set on Eco and I have just over 15000 miles now with average 28.2 mpg. I do use my cruise control whenever possible and usually set at posted speed limits. This is all types of driving and road conditions. I use the cheapest gas available and I never use additives. Never used higher than 87 octane. Also I don't use synthetic oil. Love my Telly.

Oh, the city mpg rating is absolutely BS, unless the city you live in is a podunk town with 3 traffic lights. Highway is about right.

Hey, don't call my town podunk! (We only have two lights!) (But the big city (Albuquerque) is only 35 miles away).

Is anyone seeing there AWD Telluride Avg MPG's are approx 3-4 lower than what the average on the engine specs? the city MPG is 19 and highway is 22 or 23. Wife has had her Telluride for 1 month and she is averaging 16 MPGs.
I'm getting 24.2 mpg (87% highway driving). Click on the footer below for Fuelly stats of my Telluride S.

Hey, that's a pretty cool web site! Thanks for sharing

Hello,
We just got our 2020 EX five months ago & over 4500 miles, we've averaged 19.1 MPG » lots of in-town driving with a couple of week-long road trips.

Not great but sooooo much better than the alarming trip display often showing between 6 and 11 MPG around town (3-5 mile trips, arrived before it really warms up)

I found that the more often I go over 40mph, the better my MPG
(25-40mph around town really drags down that average + my Idle Stop and Go rarely kicks in, so I can watch the MPG drop and drop while idling at a signal or a drive-thru)

Kia Telluride MPG - Actual MPG from 146 Kia Telluride owners puts it all in perspective

After a bit over 2 years and nearly 35K miles of a mix of local and long distance.....my overall average is at 22, my frequent 400 mile runs usually get 24-27......my local 10 mile runs get 15 to 18.

Right now we're averaging about 17mpg mixed, but we've been doing a lot of remote start due to cold weather so I'm sure that has an impact. It takes a lot longer for the car to warm up vs our other car so sometimes it's back to back remote start sessions to get the car up to snuff. I already accepted the fact this car isn't going to be great compared to what we already have. If I wanted better gas mileage, we would have gone Sorento PHEV. We just liked the overall package of the Telly too much so the sacrifice is worth it.
