• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Telluride sx lift and larger tires

Longtime lurker, here she is, 2022 SX Nightfall. Stock rims with Fallen Wildpeak AT Trails, 255/50/20. 2” Truxxx lift. Thanks for all the help and posts boys/girls!

Sweet ride there. Planning to do similar with a 2" Truxxx lift + shock extension on my OEM Nightfall wheels. Trying to decide between the Wildpeak 255 and 245. Any noticeable rub with the 255 in your setup? Still happy with the ride?

At this point I don't want to add a lift kit, but I would like a bigger tire or at least taller sidewall. I have 20" wheels. What tire can I put on without rubbing?

You might be able to figure this out using two websites, discounttire.com and tiresize.com

I think if you go with 265/50R20 you will get almost an inch taller.

With an 18" wheel I can get a taller sidewall than with a 20" wheel. What are the benefits of that?

Ride quality primarily. With more sidewall, there's more time to cushion impacts. If you're going off road, it'll help traction and prevent punctures (if you air down). You trade off on road handling, but the Telluride isn't really for carving canyon roads.

Guuyyyyys.. I just got back from dealership for oil change and theyre saying the lift kit has caused front axle issues! 3k to fix. Basically the lift kit has strained the drive shafts and lubricant is spraying all over under car. This sucks majorly. So not only do I have to fix the problem, I'll probably have to remove the lift kit unless I can find aftermarket parts to match the difference from the lift. Now that the lift kits have been out a few years, I'm curious to know if anyone else is having this problem.

Seems unusual that the lift kits has been out there and many owners have used it and now the dealer is saying it is causing damage. Seems like that would have come up before now. I am skeptical it is the lift kit. May be something else.

Yeah, I'm wondering about that too. I have no idea.

I wouldn’t even say a word other than just get your oil change at another dealer and see if they caught it or just get a 2nd opinion to be safe. How long has the lift kit been installed on the Telluride?

Did they give you any more details on exactly what broke or at least show you the problem? I would take it to an independent repair shop for a second opinion. They could probably do the same repair for half the cost too.

Had a leaky boot issue before I put the lift on. Have had the 2 inch lift for about 2 years, zero axle issues

I just bought 265/60r18 motomaster all terrain tires ans fast 18x9 wheels.

I wasnt planning on putting a lift on. Do you think i can get away with it. Or will i need the 2" lift?

I'm having them balanced on the fast mags Friday. I really hope they fit... they look pretty frigging big. I'm nervous lol

Here is my '21 Telly with 2" front + 2.25" rear and shock extenders (Truxxx 306016) and new Falken Wildpeak AT 255/50/20 on stock Nightfall wheels. I have the tow package. The shop said it was a straightforward install and they really enjoyed working on the Telluride. I go back in 500 miles to get everything re-torqued and checked.

So far so good after a few weeks. Really happy with the extra height and handling. The tires feel grippier than OEM and no rub at all. Not noticing much in the way of extra road noise. I haven't tested the ACC on the highway yet, nor have I had any problems yet with FCA sensor as I've seen on another recent thread... hoping it stays that way. It does seem like the headlights hit other drivers even worse than before, might see if the shop can adjust when I go back.

Post more pics when you can.

It will be really close. 265/50r20 is the biggest that discount tire recommends and they're nearly the same size. If it fits please let us know! I'm really thinking about that size if it does.

Putting the 265/50/20 on today with no lift- they said it should fit just fine.
